You need polyvine varnish instead of wax for things like tables and other heavy use items.

Thanks for your reply, Belle! We are currently working on a front yard makeover and live about 18 miles inland from the coast so it can get really toasty in summer! But we just had a beautiful picket fence put in and I'd love to build on the idea of a Nancy Meyers garden that is low maintenance and water sensitive, ( if both can exist together!). So any video thoughts along those lines would be welcome in our Mediterranean microclimate. Perhaps your climate is similar? Also any thrifting tips on good vintage finds that add to blue and white or Hamptons vibes would be great and fun. I'm always looking for the best price and best quality for money on anything for indoors or landscaping! 🥰🌺 Happy weekend!

Thanks for your video. The soap pump is gorgeous but it has a design flaw found in many such dispensers. The spout is perpendicular to the table top, which means it doesn’t pour out directly into your hand. It would be better if the spout pointed downwards instead of straight out towards you.

Oh, that is such a good point, thanks for your comment! So I guess you would end up having to warn your family and friends to put their hand in front of it instead of under it!! 😂 Maybe I'll contact IKEA to bring it to their attention. 💜😊

@@HamptonYourHouse Maybe. :). My current soap dispenser has this issue and I find it annoying as I wash my hands several times a day. I’m in the process of moving so will replace when I get to my new home.

Sadly, the Hennessy bureau desk seems to have vanished from Ikea, as of August 2024. Rest of the range is there, but no sign of that great little desk. But a really great addition to the list would be the Ramebo floor mirror, perfect for Hampton style.

I always have the problem with the picture being slightly bigger than the frame. It’s not always practical to trim the picture so how do I do that?

If you know anyone who has a quilting ruler mat with the roll-cutter thing (like a pizza cutter), they might be able to help you with a really nice straight cut? Or perhaps a really good office supply store might have an A3 or bigger size paper guillotine? Hope that helps! 😊

Thank you for sharing this idea. I have a custom made pixel picture and there was no frame the size i needed. I went to the store and bought the next biggest size frame. I will have to cut it down both directions just like you did but now that I see what I was thinking in action, I don’t feel so stupid. Thank you very much for sharing this brilliant idea!

For years I worked with my father (a janitor) and he used toothpaste and toothbrush ONLY for stubborn marks and NEVER on a matte painted wall. Even the mildest toothpaste contains some level of abrasives, and, coupled with a hard brush, you are going to damage the paint.

Interesting. I would love to know - what he did use to get the marks off matte painted walls? Especially if there are a lot of them? Toothpaste and toothbrush is the only thing I have found that will actually get the marks off. Thanks for commenting! 😊

No worries! I would personally just use white, but you could try another colour - just test on an inconspicuous area first. But to be safe I would go with white. 😊

I just used normal acrylic, that you might buy for kids to use. Any water-based paint would be fine. 😊
