I do love to watch your videos and try to follow just how you feel/think. It's so not how I work but I find it fascinating and I usually learn something. Thanks ❤❤❤

Thank you Susan! I love watching others paint with a completely different style and approach to mine. It's so fascinating!

Thanks Chantelle! Funny how I always tend to gravitate towards certain colours

Makes me notice how differently I paint. You move the paint slowly and it seems so deliberate where you put down a little touch of a color. I paint very fast in the beginning and even at this stage too, often acting upon new ideas without thinking about the whole work and then it becomes just a mess again and again ; ) Going to experiment with your way and see how that goes. Thank you

Hi Sigrun! I have to push myself to paint faster when I want to be less considerate and add more energy. It's all a balance!

So can you explain what you are visaully looking for to know what will create the pulled together compisition. More specifically what we look for in our paintings and how to create shapes and ways to pull everything yogether. What I got from this video was you pulling your colors together to create a nicer flow and over all visaul look. Maybe I am just having a hard time getting this compisition in art down to a piont where I can just look at what I have going on, on my paper or canvas and pull it together.

Hiya! I look for shapes that are different sizes. A shape is basically just an area of a contrasting value. If there are two shapes close together that look like they are almost one large dark shape, I combine them by painting with a similar value across the gap. Basically, for a better composition check that your shapes are different sizes. Have a look at this video where I’m explaining that concept too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4vUp5ejdp6aga8

I enjoyed the post-punk doom-wave music you threw in there:) It's interesting to watch you work and talk about the reasoning for the creative choices you make.

Lol, that's a good way of putting it 😂

Your work is beautiful but I've noticed you use the same colors in all your pieces.

In a previous video I saw of hers, I recall her mentioning she does series of works in which she deliberately uses a very similar, if not the same, color palette. 😊

I have noticed that to and I guess it was explained by feeny, but I would love ot see some very bright or colorful versions of her style.

Hi Missie! So true, I tend to gravitate towards the same colour palette.

Hi Feeny! That's right, I tend to keep my colours cohesive throughout a series, which helps to tie all the pieces together. There are also certain colours that I gravitate towards in all of my work.
