My mini abstract paintings are almost finished. At this late stage I like to focus on improving composition, but still dare to change things up if needed.

I really enjoy your videos Jannine, they are so well edited, a skill in itself. Thank you for the tips in using your mobile, cant think why l hadnt thought of that as l use my photos as inspiration in my landscapes. Give your studio pal a wee hug from me 😊 and thanks again

Haha, I will! Thanks so much. The trick with the phone is really handy. Not only because it shows you the values clearly, but also because it shows you a smaller version, so you get to see your painting in a different way. It's a bit like standing far away from your painting.

I love your videos and your art. So beautiful and interesting. I’m very curious about your wet palette , could you please give us some explanations about it ? Do you use some wet tissue papers ? one above another ? Love from France.

Thanks so much! For my palette I use a home made "stay wet palette". It's any kind of tray with wet tissue paper (or anything that holds moisture, like an old kitchen towel), with a piece of tracing paper or baking paper on top. The water evaporates through the paper and keeps the paint moist for a long time. If you add a lid (another tray) on top you can keep the paint fresh over night. Sending my love across the channel (the one between England and France) 😄
