I hate when people say amazon sells the whole kit for $17. Ok then you do it yourselves and when the balloons are only a fraction of what the picture shows and they pop as you inflate them because of the low quality remember me 😂

I’m new to balloon arrangements & I have yet to only use one arch kit from Amazon. I’ve had to add almost double the supplies on each arrangement. They think they can order one kit and turn it into a large fabulous arrangement.

I just experience this with someone I know … I gave her the cost and she said just for decorations.. it wasn’t just decorations , she wanted up lighting tables cape, centered pieces, curtain backdrop, dessert table, chiavari chairs, chair tie backs, and me also to be the coordinator… all of this setup with 2 hrs is what the hall was giving her…she said she will do it herself I said thank you and good luck

Same client 4 years in a row. It was a hobby for me in the beginning and I gifted almost everything but kept everything and only charged $200. Now retired, I can no longer gift and for 12 tables & a backdrop, she asked for a discount this year to $100. HA! She'll find out now what the real deal is! Good info..Thx!

You are soooo right Loniel. I just had the most unfortunate and unpleasant experience with a balloon and table set ip set-up for a "friend". I went into it thinking and telling her that she can give me a "love offering" after she insisted on paying me. Long story short, she wanted to know how much I was expecting. When I told her that I would accept 50% of what I would normally charge, she decided to give me, rather she was only prepared to spend 25% of what I was expecting. Of course you know we are no longer friends. It was so unpleasant. I've learnt my lesson and hope God gives me the courage to do better next time with "friends" or whom ever.🙄 Thanx for being so open with us in this community and God bless you!

I have the same thing going on now! I was asked to coordinate and decorate for my uncles 80th birthday. As a gift I said I wouldn’t charge to do it but would need something towards supplies. I told the family that I would need payment for the 8 table decor, balloon garland, back drop, 2 balloon pillars, balloon arch for cake table, also table cloths and buffet setup. They’re coming at me like I should foot the whole bill! Lesson learned know your worth no matter who you are dealing with!

Welcome to my world , this is what I been saying but it gets dismissed . I think because alot of event planners or designers have not experienced these issues . I try to explain the prices . Sometimes they work with me . A lot of the times they just hire someone else . Not to be negative on who they hired / or if they did it themselves , the guest that did attend say . I know Dee didn’t decorate this . So on the other hand , I’m kind of proud that my work is recognized . I’ve been adding the delivery and set up as one . It might not be work for everyone but it has been working for me . I’m in Florida .😍 ❤️thanks for another great video .

Great video. You are so right. I am glad to see that this is not only in Alabama with trying to find your ideal client. The clients don't understand the prices and the time that goes into decorating, traveling, but many times they don't question the name brand shoes, clothing etc. I feel that clients who are willing to pay the prices don't question you, they just say okay, sign contract, pay amount and that's it. I was asked to do a set up in living, small but needed table decorated chairs with covers, sash, chargers, I meant the whole shibang plus nice size balloon garland, I told her she had to rent chairs, she said oh you have chairs, as a friend I charged her $150 and I had to go back to pick up my stuff and return the chairs, she was so very generous she gave me $10 did not cover the tax on the chairs 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I totally agree , A few events that I have done the party started at 9 PM set up was 7 PM. When I contacted the venue because I have decorated there before they told me I can come in after three a. Then. they actually let me pick up my decorations in the morning. I was so happy my brother went and picked it up with the truck but of course I still have to pay him . I was just glad I didn’t have to go back at that time. And the answer to that nap yes I had taken a nap and then went back and picked up my stuff. Smh 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😅😅

I rent bell glamping tents and decorate them with balloons. I had a client who told me half way through a set up, she thought the area rugs and pillows would match the balloon garland colors...sooo she thought I had hundreds of rugs and pillows so each tent interior would match ANY/EVERY balloon garland I make? Wow!

Let them know girl! When I interact with people like that I compare it to getting a car towed to the shop. They charge to tow the vehicle. They charge for the parts. Then they charge for the labor...and that's before tax. 😉

What do you do about a client who hires you. You take your inventory to the venue. Then you find that the client has brought their own chargers and glasses. Yet it was part of the agreement/contract that you provide these things. Thank you.

I would just put them back in my vehicle. If the client paid for something and then don’t use it, that’s they’re decision. Did your client ask for a refund?
