How to restore and seal an old car gastank!| The right way!

After a super long search we finally got a good used GVR4 gastank! Now with an old and rare gas take it’s very important that you prep and seal it so it dose not rust again!
Here is an over view of what we did!
1- strip the tank of any loose rust/ paint down to bare metal.
2 - clean tank fully inside and out with a degreaser.
3- use Por-15 metal prep on inside and out of the tank and teat whole tank.
4- make sure tank is fully dry inside and out.
5- coat outside with Por-15. Min of 2 coats.
6 - let dry
7 - por full contents of Por-15 tank sealer inside tank and seal tank.
8- move take around in deferent positions to make sure inside is fully coated.
9- drain excess.
10- let dry for 96 hours.
With the tank fully treated you’ll never have any issues with your tank rusting out! Well I hope haha! Follow along for the car build!

So once you slosh your paint round inside you really wanna use your air gun to clear your breather tube, and the bigger tube that feeds your internal baffled area where your fuel pick up is. Try blow through your breather now and see if it’s blocked.

So I did not show it in the video but I taped off the breather tube on the inside of the tank. Just so nothing would get into the tube! I’ll blow it off again just to make sure tho!

Sweet! But yer I would check all the others,especially the one inside the tank, or you may not get any fuel once it’s under 1/4 tank. I’d be amazed tho if the actual breather that’s right up the very top (not the fuel return) isn’t blocked tho
