Fill it with pennies, get a friend, roll, shake and shuffle it around and it should remove the loose stuff. Do it with a solvent if it doesn't do enough.

You're doing the right thing getting in front of it. My Elantra's crankcase, not the coolant system, was full of rust when it was left in my driveway with the keys & title in it. The block had sat in a field under a collapsed pole barn for 4 years before it got drug out with a tractor, hosed off, wire brushed, and put back together again (with the waterlogged bearings that were never even removed from it). It made it about 6k hard miles before it blew up and then I got the luxury of rebuilding it the right way. Some argue I shouldn't have, but the car is just too much fun when it works. I couldn't help it? You can probably save the block, but I don't know about the crank? I've got a brand new 6-bolt Eagle crank you can have if you think it will fix your problem. I measured it in one of my videos where you see like 4-5 crankshafts on the bench in the thumbnail. I didn't use it. I don't need it.

So once you slosh your paint round inside you really wanna use your air gun to clear your breather tube, and the bigger tube that feeds your internal baffled area where your fuel pick up is. Try blow through your breather now and see if it’s blocked.
@Jspecrutz3 ай бұрын
So I did not show it in the video but I taped off the breather tube on the inside of the tank. Just so nothing would get into the tube! I’ll blow it off again just to make sure tho!
@james3two33 ай бұрын
Sweet! But yer I would check all the others,especially the one inside the tank, or you may not get any fuel once it’s under 1/4 tank. I’d be amazed tho if the actual breather that’s right up the very top (not the fuel return) isn’t blocked tho

At 10:47, there's a stud on your coilover visible just above the rotor. The factory struts had brackets right there for the brake lines. You're supposed to mount the brake line to that bracket half-way up there where that grommet/fitting thing is in the middle of the line. Your factory strut brackets should bolt onto that thing if you can still find them.

Keep it up! Can't wait to see the finished product, gona be a sick car! Question, when you had the engine built did it have the strait cut oil pump gears, and did you keep or remove the oil squirters? I've heard that the helical cut ones work their way out if you deleted the balance shafts, and for the oil squirters if you removed/blocked those off it causes very high oil pressure causing the bearings to lift even if you did the oil mod to the block. A guy I know builds 4g63's for a living and over some conversations at times he brought up some issues that happen that some shops don't know about if you had a shop do it or your self. But look's great not many people would put in the effort to make this a good car again.
@Jspecrutz4 ай бұрын
So I do believe I have oem straight cut gears. I bought the short block fully assembled already. It was done by a shop FFW. Also I still have oil squirter also. It dose have the balance shaft deleted , to combat high oil pressure I ported my oil filter housing . I’m hoping our oil pressure is not to high lol.

@@JspecrutzSick, sounds like this 4g will be an absolute tank of engine. It’ll definitely hold up the the abuse! What are you doing for the trans? I know it’s near impossible to find evo 3 gears etc for these other then a stock rebuild. I read somewhere the late jdm not US dsm trans from 96+ have all the evo 3 goodness. So if it breaks and your looking to upgrade I’d look into those as donor trans if you can find out they have evo 3 internals. Can’t wait for the finished product!

Hey bro I love the content you do even tho you have a little community you still do content like that amazing!! And I just have a little question I also saw your old video where you replaced your old Supra mk4 tail lights. And I saw you had the old s1 tail lights connectors and upgraded to the s2 tail lights and I wanted to ask if you had any information for the s1 tail lights connectors because no matter what u search for I only find s2 connectors it would help me jf you could just give me the serial number for the s1 tail lights connector (the old ones) and do you know if other connectors from other cars would fit the s1 tail lights? It would be so nice if you would answer thank youu :)

Hey! I just looked my my s1 tail lights and I could not find a specific serial number for the connectors. I’d recommend upgrading to the s2s if you can’t find a connector for your old tail lights. They arnt super expensive. Like 2-300 bucks and they look amazing

Film the good, the bad, and the ugly, showing the realistic parts of the build. People think it all shines sun and rainbows when putting a car together! Use good break-in oil, run it for several high cycles, and dump it. The cheap oil for 100 miles, dump it, and 500 miles, dump it, and then what you want to run. Also, run an excellent magnetic oil drain plug to catch stuff. Keep up the work!

Bro, it's okay if you skip all the filming and editing of a thing that made you unhappy. It takes a previously heavily-damaged person to enjoy, much less tolerate, editing your mistakes for presentation. Most people don't understand how much time it takes, but it's important to keep everything in your happy place. You do a great job of keeping it in your happy place! Simply admitting it like you did is enough for all of us, I think. I just like seeing the progress and your motivations for doing it!
