Wow. You can really see why this is an expensive process. Great job👍

Nice job. Do you recycle all the copper hanging wire? Does it matter to the recycler that there would be nickel and chrome on the surface? Regards, Mark

Yes and Yes

Wish I wasn't in Australia, got a set of hub caps chrome plated done here and there pitting though one cap and pealing chrome after I taped and painted the vw logo :(

Fantastic work, real tradesman at heart. Hard to find this now days. Curious if the sulfuric strip process takes the old nickel and copper off as well or is this being sanded off on the belt grinder?

It takes the nickel off but leaves copper. Very few chrome parts were coppered when new.

Wouldn't it be easier to drill out the braise, weld up the hole, and then do the standard process?
@ChromeandCarRestoration11 ай бұрын
It is an option but may not be easier. Welding has to be perfect as any defects will Show. Also has to be tig or gas welded.

200/1000ths of an inch? .200? Am I understanding the terminology correctly? That’s nearly 1/4 of an inch of chrome. Do you mean 2/10,000ths?

Thanks for pointing this out. I said less than 2 / 100,000in. The subtitles were incorrect, I have now corrected them.
