I removed all the cracked & chipped pleather from a wallet/card holder I enjoyed for several years. Someone suggested that I paint the exposed body. I plan to try that after my vision improves after cataract surgery. If it does the trick I hope to enjoy the wallet for a few more years. If not, at least I will have tried.

No it isn't. It won't hold. That adhesive is useless on a leather surface, and after a short time the patch will come of especially in the corners. This repair is totally waste of time and materials.
