How to restore QuickBooks Backup

Would it not be better to have one "live" working file and when restoring from backup just keep overwriting the live set. Then have one Test database. If multiple databases are required for testing different scenarios then have different databases at another location.This should be the best practice. This is my take, although I am not familiar with QBDT but have experience with other software. In ERP lingo you would call it Production, Live and Testing environments.

Nice video. Wondering if you could answer a question? Have desktop pro 2019. Can not print. When I click on print, nothing happens now. If I click on print preference, pop up window no longer pops open. Thinking I have a bad file. Printer works fine with other programs. Probably going to uninstall and reinstall unless you have other thoughts? Thanks

how to bring data from a usb that I worked on a laptop to a desktop that i added information to after I worked on the laptop to keep all my information that i entered?

Hi Joshua, You can't merge two files, so make sure you're only working on one file at a time. If you're moving your file back to your desktop: -You would first backup the file on your laptop on your USB/External drive -Then restore it on your desktop, following the video above. I haven't had to restore a backup for a long time and am getting an error "Restore failed. This is an invalid format of a post QB2007 backup file." Something funky happened to the program in November and I've lost the last three years of files! I haven't been able to do restoring of any of the backups. Help!

Hi James, If you want to remove/hide a company in QuickBooks Desktop, here's how: Go to the File menu. Select Close Company. Click the Edit List button. Put a check-mark next to the company file you want to delete. Click OK. Hello, Candus I restored my data from my laptop computer that I use every day to my travel laptop. but I noticed that I did restore all the information but it did not restore the attached files that I have in some of my vendor's invoices. How Can I fix that? I am afraid to work on the travel computer and when I restore the information on my work laptop I will lose all the attachments. Can you explain to me why this happened?
