Paul as a 54 year old man, and owning 30-40 snapbacks I wanna thank you so much for the in depth explanation. I buy used snapbacks and this information is really helpful. Thanks again. BTW I gave you a thumbs up.

I'm glad you showed people how to replace the snaps. For a minute there I was like restoration!? You mean what I do to all my hats every time I wash them? That's not restoring them, that's just taking care of them and cleaning them. We re-paint hats that are faded from sweating or the sun, we fix the logos, and those are the kind of restoration things I thought I would see. Keep it up though, cuz you'll work your way up there. Peace!

This was a much more informative and helpful video than I initially anticipated! Though I'm not much of a snapback guy (I grew up in the eighties and hated that the snaps always broke) I found a lot of useful stuff here. My own hat story involves trying to restore two older fitted hats, a fishing hat from Alaska that has suffered embroidery fading and a Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench hat in which the black fabric has faded badly but the embroidery looks new. They are my two favorite hats and I really don't want to replace them. Any ideas?

When using a toothbrush make sure the fabric isn’t thinning before using a harsh scrubbing material, if it is use a sponge softly or rub in a stain remover and let it sit for a few hours then gentle wash out. Fabrics on old hats may have worn away or come loose over time. Also if using a washing machine make sure to set it to cold, heat will shrink the fabric and break the plastic snap on the back.
