Dude... awesome how to video. Thank you! Question - have you done any older ballcaps? I have about 20 or so ballcaps from various commands and ships from my time in the NAVY from 1985-1991. Time and humidity have not been kind to them... lol. I would really like to restore/clean/reshape those bad boys. Have you done any that old? Does soaking the brim ruin the material inside the brim (cardboard?). Thank you for sharing! 🤠

If you put the wet cap on top of a similar dry cap it's better for shaping while drying.

REPEAT THE STARCH Sometimes I drown it in the starch leaving it soaking wet I brush it into the fibers like in my latest video. What kind of hat do you have? If you want Dm me on ig we can arrange something where I can restore your hat for you if it doesn’t work out for you ok brudah

If you use a bathroom towel it will allow you to really stretch out any creases in the hatm also how did the hat go from beeing washed to a perfect shape BEFORE shaping?

It really wasn’t at perfect shape it would Stand but be leaning a bit here and there it had some hold but not really. So the starch would give it that extra sturdiness and extra strength 😄

I use a re-shaping balloon, steamer, and starch to shape. That balloon allows you to fill as much as needed

What I like to do is I clean the hat first by hand just like how this video shows then I put my hats in the dish washer obviously without dishes then when it’s done I put the starch and shape the hat again
