I LOVE THIS VIDEO !!!! "The Magic Attic Club" dolls are the only 18" dolls I like. I have two "Roses" (my favorite). I love their slim torso and mostly they're full body vinyl. I cannot stand that soft body business ... nope don't like it, on any doll! So far my dolls are still in good shape, being well over 15 or so years old. I had no idea they were strung so complexly, makes me not want to touch them ever again. (LOL) I have got to keep this video, very informative. Thanks so much for making it! Take Care.

Thank you for this tutorial! There's not much to be found on doll like these. Do you know if it would be the same to fix a Carpatina 18" slim doll? They are always mentioned alongside of the Magic Attic and Stardust Classic. Their bodies do look similar. I need to fix the eyes of one of them, they have sleeping eyes like the Stardust Classic. I wasn't sure her vinyl would soften. Usually eye swapping is done heating the vinyl to pop the eye out. Do you think they would come out by just using the hair blow dryer aiming at her eyes? Thanks for any help :)

My guess is that it would be similar but I think Carpatina dolls are all vinyl, so they might actually be strung all the way through their bodies.

@@MunecasPoupeesDolls Thanks, yes they are all vinyl. So if I got this right, I could use the blow dryer to heat the eye area and get the vinyl to soften enough to remove the eye without using hot water, just like you soften the neck?

I actually JUST got out my BSC dolls yesterday as well (it was project doll day) and am considering restringing them. If I do I'll make a video. They're strung a little differently (they have those rubber cords instead of elastic), but I *think* the same process would essentially work. If you decide to give it a shot before I do, let me know how it goes!

Wow I am amazed thank you so much I do have an attic doll I bought and her limbs are loose thank you so much I can now fix her myself I have baby sitters dolls too that I bought but unfortunately there legs and arms are loose can you do a video on how to restring them I have 3 of them thank you so much

What do you do if the leg cups inside have deteriorated and broken? Use a plastic bottle cap?

In the video I didn't reuse the cups so I would say just leave that part out 😆

Ha! I was watching the Magic Attic Dolls video from this year's TonnerFest and thought the dolls were adorable. So I went looking for them and found two new dolls on eBay but the seller said in the description of both that their heads were a bit wobbly. So that made me go look for info on restringing them and what do I find?! Are there any dolls you don't have? 😄 This was super helpful. Thanks Allison!

I got mine from either Walmart or Lowe's years ago ... I'm thinking it was Walmart in the fishing supplies section. But you can order them on Amazon as well :)

I have looked at one years ago and from what I remember they would be extremely difficult to restring because of the way the head is strung on. I may be remembering wrong but that's what I can recall.

I've never taken one of those apart so I'm not sure how they're strung together, likely the restringing would be very similar but there are bound to be some differences.

I think I'm going to try. I have 3 very floppy BFC Ink dolls. What size stringing cord did you use? What size wing nuts? Thank you for this tutorial! It has given me the courage to try.

The cord was 4.5 mm, I can't remember what size the wing nuts were but I think if you zoom in on the video you might be able to see the size. Good luck and let me know if it works!

Ha, I came here for the same purpose! Thank you for this tutorial Muñecas, Poupees, and Dolls! I have some 4mm stringing cord, but not sure about the wingnut sizing. I'll see if any that I've saved from my birds' toys are the right size and, if so, off to the hardware store! (Mine aren't labeled, so even if I find a good size I won't know it until I match it up in a store.)
