Thanks for this! When I was in Hawai'i last month, I bought a baritone Uke and shipped it home. It appeared to have been in the store a while and the D and G strings were tarnished (D and G were steels, B and E were nylon) so they gave me a full set of complimentary strings. Woke up this morning and the G string had snapped at the tuning machine. I've restrung guitars and basses before but have never seen how to restring an instrument with a tie block. This is excellent! Gonna watch a couple more videos to make sure I understand it completely, but I am very confident I can do it with just your 5-minute video!

This video is a good one. Curious, can you or do you have a video showing how to do this with an open headstock? I am sure the concepts are the same but does it matter how it is wound on the post? Should the winding on the actual post go above or below ? I just bought a new ukulele and 3 out of 4 strings are wound the same way and one string is different so now I am not sure if there is a right or wrong way for open headstocks.

Thank you amazing video for a newbie like me! Was panicking when my string snapped and was so scared of changing my strings. The only thing im curious about, my strings were kind of intertwined at the bridge saddle like each had their own knot then kind of the next string got hooked to the previous one before its own knot not sure if im making myself clear, looked almost as if it was one loooong string for the four strings. Does it make a difference if each knot is separate or looped together at the bridge/saddle

Great video! one suggestion.. ukulele (oo-koo-le-le) NOT (U-ku-le-le). In hawaiian uku means bug/flea and lele means to jump which is how the name came to be. Back in the day when people were jamming, their fingers were like bugs jumping on the fret board. Itʻs a hawaiian word, not an english word. Thanks again for the great video.
