Thanks for making this content for us, appreciate the effort and time that goes into creating it. Really helps blender newbies such as myself.

Thanks. I try to make content that I wanted when I was starting, but that is straight to the point (that's why my explanations are quick)... I know I'd rather get to creating than watch an hour long video. Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support.

Heh, well at least you copy/flipped it at the end! :-P Considering the entire wing is symmetrical, you coulda just retopo'd a quarter section, and then copy/flipped it all the way around. Woulda saved you a bit of time. Regardless, mad respect for having sculpted the entire thing!

I know! But honestly it was slightly not symmetrical, and that would of thrown off my normal map bake. Next time I do a project like this I will be helping that in mind during the sculpting process.

What im wondering is.. why do you use sculpt on that wing lol?? that is 100% hard surface with complete straight lines. The only thing you should be doing is adding a few bevels and if you feel that you need more detail, just add a subdivision surface. But sculpting??? oh my.. :s doing retopo of something like this is rather moronic.. just saying. I mean, instead of retopo, as i said, just create a high poly adding some bevels and if you want a subd modifier.. but more than that... Now, if you made this wing sculpting from scratch, thats your first mistake. And why using zbrush for this??? just use blender native sulpting tools, for god sake.. :p

Because I have been practicing Hard Surface sculpting in Zbrush - on top of that it let me create video explaining retopo to help other people. You can see the video where I sculpted the entire Tie Fighter including this wing on my channel. Thanks for checking out my videos!

Mostly good points, with the same level skill this took to sculpt, it could have been made with BoxCutter in literally 1-2 minutes. Than UV unwrapped and textured, all in a fraction of the time taken in this video. There are also many faster and generally superior ways of doing retopo in blender; extruding an individual vertex 2,000 times might work, but it's probably the slowest and most painful way. that said, Blender sculpting is great for many things but for ADVANCED PROJECT, even last time i tried it (6-8 years ago) Z-Brush was already miles ahead of blender for sculpting, and they really are not comparable tools. The interface alone: Blender- finally pretty decent for many things in 2019... But only after you BUY and MANUALLY INSTALL: Hard Ops, Kit Ops, BoxCutter, MeshMachine, DecalMachine.... Than enable a bunch of necessary 'add-on' tools that come with it, but are disabled by default.... Than hope you are lucky enough to hear about Tissue, Easy HDRI, Miratools, Machin3Tools... all of which you will have to find, and manually install yourself... Not to mention learning, re-learning, and reworking your workflow and key maps every time you discover one of these... THAN yes, once you've done ALL OF THAT Blender is finally pretty awesome. in 2019... Z-Brush??- even back than was already an example of elegance and optimized workflows. a perfect combination of aesthetics and function! Both great tools, but NOT to be compared.
