Nice workshop! From Hawaii, so our electron microscope needed two active de-humidifiers and water dumping. I mainly use silica gel for food, but might start using it for watches that we rarely wear nowadays. Those cheap cookie tins from x-mas are bug resistant for stamps, and the bigger tins from Japan are great for comics. Thanks for sharing bro! 👍🤙

You’re very welcome! We’ve been using the same desiccant daily since I’ve made this video and they’re still working great. I bake them about 3 times a week on average.

Wow, didn't know that these beads changed colors. Great follow up to Sally's video I just watched. That machine is awesome.

Yes! It's also cool you can re use them up to 500 times. Very economical vs a powered air dryer.

This is exactly the info i was looking for. Now i just need to figure out how to apply it to drying my 3d print filament.

You can probably get an airtight container, drop your filament in, and pour the silica beads all around it. That’s what I did with my ammo in cases and it worked great. I even ended up putting a large canister in my safe to keep everything dry and it works great.

if you need dry compressed air. get a FSR filter much better than using Desiccant.

With our lasers running 10-12 hours a day I was having to change the desiccant and dry daily. I ended up combining an ingersoll air dryer with the desiccant beads and only have to change them every 3 days or so now. Our humid summers are insane when it comes to keeping compressed air dry.

@@reallifetested2605 i would still opt for an FSR filter. First of all they are not very expensive. they are made to run 24/7 365. they are used in industrial settings all the time for a reason. they are easy to install. i cant figure out why you would use Desiccant over an good filter. they even come with a drain plug for easy drainage.

That’s awesome! I wish we used the metric system to be honest. It makes more sense than us standard but hey what can you do. 🙃

If they turn pink does that mean it’s ready to rejuvenate?
@reallifetested26055 ай бұрын
Yes, when you put them in the oven they turn back to a nice blue color.
