Great video. Fast and to the point! The only thing I would have added is most newer fridges can be done like this, top to bottom, then bottom back to top. There are online manuals for your fridge model that usually have details on how to do this (some models differ but not by much), screws out, switch, screws in and you're good just like you did. Keep up the good work!

Before removing the freezer door, try this..... Put one of your bed's pillows into a large plastic bag (ex. garbage bag). When the freezer door comes off, push that into the freezer to keep the cold air in, and the warm air out. Then you don't have to be in such a hurry.

Looks easy BUT; first problem we had with our new Amana was that the tiny plastic plugs on top of fridge could not be popped out. First tried small flat screwdriver but could not get it under that cap. Switched to a small knife blade; finally after a couple minutes of very careful / gently prying the cap broke off, leaving the stem down in the hole. Seemed those pegs were glued in. So our door will remail the way it is.

I've done the fridge door swap a few times, but it looks like my cheap apartment manager bought one that you can't switch the doors. There is a peg that sticks up on the right side in the second hole farthest to the right. The only way to move it to the other side would be to remove the whole thing from the underneath and left. Unfortunately when you do that the pin is on the right side of the left side of the two holes. And it's a permanent pin piece meaning there's no screw or any way to remove it. Electrolux model fftr1425v.

What happens when your base mounting plate/hinge has a screw that goes /behind/ the front foot of the fridge? I attempted an adjustable wrench, 5/16th's wrench (which worked on the rest), to no avail. Do I just not have the right tool? The maker's of this fridge couldn't've possibly thought that we'd have to turn the fridge on its axis to access this screw, would they?

Lowes installers said "swapping the door is NOT advisable since the door seals don't really work after that"; something about the alignment of the door to body of refrigerators. Is that TRUE??
@homemend2 ай бұрын
Hey Bill. Unfortunately, we can’t let the Lowe’s words carry much weight in our lives :-(. If that was true, they would not make the doors able to be moved to the other side.
