How to do paragraph writing
@CozyGrammar
@CozyGrammar 2 ай бұрын
Great question! The short answer is to (1) write a first sentence that introduces the topic of the paragraph, (2) follow that sentence with additional sentences that relate to the topic, and (3) finish with a sentence that leads naturally either to the next paragraph or to the end of the piece of writing. Wouldn't, "The flowers were so beautiful" a complete sentence, and wouldn't, "I picked some" also be a complete sentence? So, in-order to connect the two complete ideas wouldn't we have to use a coordinating conjunction? like this: The flowers were so beautiful, so I picked some. ?????? 3:34 or is "I picked some" a dependent sentence? and if "I picked some" was dependent could I say: The flowers were so beautiful, I picked some. ?? or I picked some, The flowers were so beautiful. ??? thanks!
@CozyGrammar
@CozyGrammar 3 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for your excellent question! You are correct. Another way to rewrite the sentence would indeed be to use a coordinating conjunction, as you have: The flowers were so beautiful, so I picked some. As for your second question, "I picked some" is actually an independent clause because it could stand on its own as a separate sentence. Here's a video we made on independent clauses: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2rdoWmDj6eHlcU Let me know if it helps!

I am doing a exam I have to keep the same information but put it into my own words
@CozyGrammar
@CozyGrammar 3 жыл бұрын
Here's a tip: Try explaining the topic out loud, either to someone else or even just to yourself. Imagine you're teaching someone the same thing and notice how you say it naturally in your own way. Then when you have to put the same information in your own words in writing, it will likely be much easier. Plus doing something like this can help enormously with remembering the information in the first place. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes!
