I love how you made the "ollie" comparison. To me, you are jumping yourself but you're balancing your "ride" to come along with you so you can continue with your momentum by using the wheels and bearings on your "ride". It's like kung-fu on wheels.

@@ToriGirlytar I have been Riding UNICYCLES for 40 Years.. lol. Be Mindful DIRT JUMPERS have a Very Low Seat Height. So you are always Standing on the Pedals My last bike was a GT Ruckus and I was using it for Down Hill.. 150 mm Forks, 9" Hayes Hydros and a Medium Seat Height and it was good for Manuals and Powered Wheelies and I could sit down when needed. This Mongoose SS Dirt Jumper I am buying is a Stand Up Only, with low Seat Height type of bike. Being Single Speed I am going to use it for HILLS and CARDIO Training on a nearby Mountain with some Down Hill Tracks. If I was YOU... Go to a Shop and RIDE SOME BIKES and see what is the BEST FIT for your Height. GOOD LUCK...

Tip - foot and heel positioning is what will keep your feet “stuck” to the bike watch how good riders used their feet and legs while pumping and hitting jumps

When I was a kid I could bunny hop the crap outta my bike. Now in my 50s I cannot! So weird, just came naturally as a kid. I don't even remember how I started doing it... maybe just a way to get up curbs? Maybe it was just "kid fearlessness?" what ever it was or is- it's still just pure fun riding a bike.
@SORBETVM Жыл бұрын
It's the same motion as going up a curb but just all at once. Lift the front wheel, lift the back wheel. I ride fixed gear now and going up curbs when i was younger definitely helped me get the foundation of what is going on. On a fixie it's really important to pedal HARD when the crank arm is in the 12 o'clock position to speed up that rear wheel to help with the hop and also get you feet into the level 'jumping' position as fast as possible. I want to build something other than 700c tho eventually so I like watching all kinds of bike tube.

I saw a guy come off on a very small jump not going very crazy fast.. wouldn't even expect that he could've really hurt himself.. except he was wearing a chest mounted gopro and it broke every rib away from his sternum, punctured his lungs and severed his spinal cord. Instant paraplegic. I would not recommend wearing one.

Also, MTB flat shoes look terrible to me. Ride in Vans so the pedal pins fit into the tread pattern and lock in really good. Not sure whats going on with those goofy 510 shoes but I'd never ride a near bald sole, Vans all the way BMX specific cup is better too. I mean to each their own, but when she showed her bald "flats" shoes I was like, "She's gunna get alot of shinners from slipping pedals."
