good reminder to keep trying until you get it. i tend to just want to ride trails because it seems more fun, but managing to pull off something new feels so great! i already made it up a tough climb trail with no walking this summer and am working my way up to no brakes down a berm section of another trail and getting onto the wall ride at the end of a third. my local MTB org offers 2-hour skills clinics taught by local experts. i had each of my kids pick their favorite and signed up with them. did cornering with my 8-year-old already and am looking forward to technical climbs and descents with my 10-year-old! also proud dad moments when my kids' skills fit in with the other adults who signed up :)

Dude right on!! Applying this same approach to sections on the trail is the way to be & progress quickly. We're going to do a similar video to this on trail doing things to challenge ourselves, but we really wanna encourage sessioning hard sections of trail in future videos! No kidding!? That's epic. I bet that's a super proud dad moment! Love it.

Thank you! Fun to switch it up every once in a while. We’ll have to do something like this on the mountain bikes soon, too!

Appreciate you!! Thanks for sharing love even though you aren't a BMX rider yourself - that's always been my mindset; all bikes are cool! We're planning this same thing for the MTB's soon. Have a solid week! -Mike

Great video guys. I been riding for many years and it takes me many more try's to get simple tricks sometimes. It takes riding constantly everyday and willing to endure alot of pain. It's a very physical sport that alot of people don't realize whats involved. Instagram clips doesn't show how much commitment it takes to pull these tricks. And how much work you got to put in. 🍻

Thank you so much for watching! It can be a frustrating process, but that’s also the best part of bikes. Always chasing that progression!

Yes man, thanks for sharing that!! It is VERY physical & unfortunately can require falling....a lot! Keep puttin' in the work amigo, it's always worth it!

Very cool video! It's all about chasing goals close to your reach and pushing yourself little by little. No one goes pro over night. Be patient and work your way up and it'll come with time. I second the keep it fun comment! If it's stressing you out too much its good to come back to it later in a fresh headspace. Yall are rad. Gotta catch a session with you guys at that park sometime this summer! Looks incredible.

Thanks man!! Stoked you enjoyed - you know how the process goes, brick by brick is how the house is built...but that doesn't happen without a solid foundation. Lookin' forward to riding there with you soon homie. All love!

Really cool! Great lines and effort from all 3 of you! I've been trying to keep up my own motivation learning basic bmx skills and not seeing much progress, but just gotta stick with it.

Think this video was a great idea. But some of those tricks are only relatable to BMX riders, and 10-20 tries is really nothing. I'd be more interested in what it takes to do master foundational skills that require 10-20k attempts. 1) Listing off 10 esoteric tricks just goes in one ear and out the other for people who are not BMX riders. Maybe a limit of 3 tricks would be better. It's Joy of Bike, not Joy of BMX. Although there is much to be learned from BMX. 2) You are totally wasting the three amigos format by letting each person pick their own challenge. Have the two pick the weakness of the third, and set the challenge. And make it something foundational, rotation, skinnies, etc. The idea is that the the two make the third better. Else, you may as well ride by yourselves. 3) The challenges are way too easy. Should be something that takes a 100 attempts or more. Break it up into multiple multi-day videos.

Thanks for the feeback, yo. We love riding all bikes, so we plan to do this same style of video out on the MTB trail or at the dirt jumps soon too!

If you’re more of a tea guy, you can just say it. 🤷🏻♂️ But while you’re here; if you’ve got a way to block other forms of advertisement such as billboards or direct mailers, I’m all ears.

The goal of these videos is to document the full session, and making coffee was a genuine part of the session! Coffee is a better, healthier energy source than any of the traditional energy drinks on the market. That’s why we choose to make it, drink it, and talk about it! Just a part of our routine. ✌🏻✌🏻
