Great video, Thanx. Assume could rig a Keitech Fat 4.8" or even 5.8" similarly.

I've used a rivet in place of the coffee stirrer to add weight. A Little more costly but it works great.
@billwilson60556 жыл бұрын
Rivets have worked great for me as well.

What kind of rivets? What metal? Fattubes are impossible to find. I have looked at stainless steel fence cable sleeves, but to $$$.

Would a lead weight work I don't have a lot tungston
@TheBaitmanTV3 жыл бұрын
Yep sure would! I use the tungsten because it’s more compact. Play around find out what works best for you

Go out the top and you have yourself a bait you can drag on the bottom
@TommyHonkytonkytht5 жыл бұрын
exactly...with far less damage to the bass's gills
@foreignbeggar37834 жыл бұрын
I know this video is old, but maybe you’ll see it... will this rigging method work on any kind of soft swimbait?
@TheBaitmanTV4 жыл бұрын
hateful Joey it will work on a lot of them!
@bloblife4 жыл бұрын
Since the third hook in the treble is buried inside the bait, why wouldn't you just use a frog hook??
@TheBaitmanTV4 жыл бұрын
Good question but the frog hook would be a little bit too bulky for the bait and wouldn’t allow it to have the same range of motion / swimming action
@BradR12328 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate your videos very useful information!

When you hooked into a fish, is the weight able to come free so as less of a chance for the bass to throw the bait.
@TheBaitmanTV7 жыл бұрын
Bobby Brown yes it's not pegged so the weight and bait can slide up the line. Lot better hook to land ratio

very easy to rig it the same way on top of the swimbait ' s head...hooked on the top causes way less damage to the bass

I like the set up, just have 2 suggestions to the weight and hook. The hook can be bent together, so it will be closer to the body. Then the weight, you shown the sinker to be backwards in the body. Wouldn't be better to have the weight go into the body normally as the Texas hooking system?

Is the reason tungsten is recommended is because of the smaller size? Thanks for the tip! I've been on a swimbait pattern for a couple years now with pre rigged Storms with treble, but cant find anywhere here in central Illinois, now i can make my own.

Very cool tip! I've seen this before using a metal sleeve from a rivet but the plastic coffee stir is definitely the easier way to go. Have you ever fished this without any weight and If so does it swim properly? Thanks, you earned a sub!

do you just use pliers to get the plug of plastic out of coffee stirrer? I'm thinking yes, but if there is an easier method i would love to know.

@TheBaitmanTV8 жыл бұрын
lol Thanks Man! True Story. I was filming Kelly Jordon on Lake Fork and was fishing with him. I went to tie on a crankbait, used this knot and he looked at me and was like "That's the knot you use"..I was like ugh oh busted...I said "yeah". He smiled and was like "Great Choice, thats the only one i used, It is the strongest". So i felt vaildated
