Great video again! Regarding the steering switch with multiple batteries; if you hook multiple batteries in parallel you’ll have the amps for the steering and then you dont need that switch. Just make sure the batteries are all the same type...and the charging by the alternator is properly set for the charging all the batteries or use a combiner for charging. That will keep the wiring costs down besides the complexity when troubleshooting...thanks again for your videos!!!

I've had almost every engine under the sun. Last year I bought my first Verado and rigged my boat my self just like the rest of my boats. This system they have is awesome. Having it hooked into my Simrad telling me all the engine data. The troll control is awesome. Every 10 rpms it can be adjusted. With that being hooked into your auto pilot you can keep the boat positioned or slow down your drift. So #TYMERCURY for not just the bag but coming up with a great system and an awesome engine.

#TYMercury Great vid as always. 1 quick note, not sure if this is the final installation or onkly temporary, but starting right around 7:15, where you are stacking the battery cables. You really should be laying down all main battery cables first on to those terminals, and then stacking smaller accessory wires (IE the clean power wires) on top of the mains. As you have it now you are stacking main battery cables on top of smaller accessory wires. This can give you voltage spikes across the mains due to an intermittent or poor connection to the battery terminals. Also, I could be wrong but it looks like you are using standard nuts and not the nylon locknuts. Looking forward to next Tuesday!

Do you have to have power steering on a Verado? I had no idea what i was getting myself into when i purchased a used Verrado without the rigging. Can i just use my seatar helm with the verado ram?
@BornAgainBoating6 ай бұрын
Ouch, yeah, there is a lot that goes into the rigging. Um, I've never tried to use a verado ram with a normal hydraulic helm, I have no idea how well that would work, though you would think it would work ok, maybe a little stiff, but possibly ok, I have never tried it so if you do, please let me know how it goes! But definitely don't use that seastar helm if you use the power steering pump, it will blow out the seals, depending on what type of helm it is of course. You will need the return line to the pump, and also if it's a Uflex, those will work with that steering system, it's all about the pressure and the helm being able to handle that pressure.
@donsreview-hakim6 ай бұрын
@@BornAgainBoating thank you. They do sell adapters to use seastar lines on the verado orb fittings. They even carry those fittings at west marine. I'll let you know how it turns out. There has been a few guys to do it on TheHullTruth and they said it works just fine. Fingers crossed.

@BornAgainBoating Жыл бұрын
Nothing really, depending on what year your L6 is, based on you saying it's a 350 I'm assuming it's not an SCI but 2015 or newer, so yeah, rigging will all be compatible, but the length in the fuel hose, battery cables, 14 pin, steering harness, and the rigging that is going to the engine. You need to make sure you have the distance in the cable because all of the rigging connection points are now in the back of the engine, opposed to the L6 which are in the front.

@BornAgainBoating5 жыл бұрын
Hello, I think the 150's need to have a tilt limit module installed on the engine. They don't come with them from the factory or have the ability to set the trim limit without them :( You can try and press mode and the + button on the gauge until the menu shows up. Continue holding until it gets to calibration and then hit mode to scroll through until the trim option shows up. That just sets the trailer though, I don't think it will limit the trim.

Hey Greg, congratulations on the repower! Easy fix, with the key switches on, just hold the menu and the plus button at the same time. Then continue to hold them together and you will see a menu screen, then a screens screen. Let go on the "screens" screen. Then click mode and scroll through the selections until you see a screen that says "remote control" turn that on on both gauges and they will be in sync again ;) hope this helps!

So if I have a both already rigged I can't "just" change the engine because the serial numbers in the new engine and the control module won't match? Are all those separate rigging kits sold on ebay worthless? I'm confused.
@BornAgainBoating4 жыл бұрын
No, basically anything made after around 2008 is compatible, but between 2004-2008 when the product was first developed and being perfected, there were changes made that made them not compatible. So, you would have to change out the CCM's in the helm whenever you repowered! Now, you just have to update the CCM's if they were made after 2008, or a certain version.
