Mealworms I remember growing up were one of the baits I wanted nothing to do with. Mealworms are creepy little things but when it comes to fishing for trout or panfish, these little guys can be deadly. Trout fishing or targeting bluegill, sunfish and more using these mealworms under a bobber is probably one of the most underutilized ways to catch these fish. Mealworms don’t grow in trees! They live in grain. I grow them myself it’s super easy! You can also just put them on a jig head. I use them primarily for Kokanee,

`Killer rod .I have 2 for trout in the 7`6 and I have use that same rod for Half Pound Steelhead . fun to use and a Very strong Composite Graphite rod . Its like a smaller Noodle rod .

Truly never used mill worms. I usually use night crawlers and marshmallow or salmon eggs. But if coarse the spinners to. I did catch a nice cutthroat with a Colorado blade under a float

Got a pack of the same Uncle Josh brand of mealworms. Problem was every time I tried to bait the hook they would break apart. Don't know if I got a bad pack or what.

Keep them cool, they're less active when cold. Once you hook them, let them warm up in your hand for a few seconds.

I’m sad :/ right when I try to get into steelhead fishing it gets terrible and it happens right before I’ve ever even fished for steelhead :( I will have to go to Alaska or Canada if I want to catch a steelhead.

Use a slip cork, you will not get a crimp in your line. Easier to adjust depth.

I bought some of there aero float and there 3/8 oz... could you just use them for salmon any ways?? That's what I'm doing this year, I could not find a decent float until I seen theres.

I really like the addicted fixed floats for steelhead and salmon in less turbulent water, but in really turbulent water and long casts and mends, a 3/4 ounce beau mac slip float is my favorite. My favorite for trout and panfish is a weighted float by comal tackle that clips onto your line.

How do you catch trout that close to the surface on a lake? I catch them at the bottom without a bobber. Every time I see somebody bobber fishing on a lake they never get any bites - panfish maybe, trout no. Are you talking shallow pond maybe?
