Nice tutorial. When I used Rndr a few years ago for the first time wasn't easy. Also now it has a lot of options and steps working better than before. Thanks

Hi Cornelius, I already use RNDR for daily jobs and honestly as a small freelancer changed my working life, so much stress is gone! To the ones complaining for the prices, I tried every render farm out there and RNDR it's 10x cheaper ( and faster / simpler once you get the right workflow, which is not so complicated). I have to say that I usually stay in the range of 1024/2048 samples and then denoise after (I work mainly with big ledwalls at huge resolutions but still need to keep render budgets on check). Lately I am upscaling 2x with topaz ai and it's working well, hopefully RNDR will implement ai upscaling as well (which is already in the standalone and plugins and sometimes halves render time without compromising too much quality). Thanks for taking your time to show this.

Also, I asked RNDR team about the possibility to set a default Octanebench value, since this number hardly changes when you always work on the same machine (for single users like me of course). Also, having the ability to set some presets could really make it more of a "click and render" solution. I find it tedious filling the same form sometimes 20-30 times in a single day!

Hi, I wish if u explain more about the difference between Rndr credits and Rndr token. I take it you didn't need to connect to crypto wallet in order to use the option Rndr Credits? Just pay in Euro? it also seems like using rndr cedits give more rendering power? confusing to me , which is best option.

I think the idea is great but then the reality kicks in. I don't think it would see any adoption among retail unless it's somehow integrated into the software via a plugin or whatever. The process is too complicated. And the cost.. I mean 200 $RNDR at current price of 0.7$ is like 140$ for 100 frames. When it comes to companies it is of course a different story. Although my main concern are the files sizes. I mean let's say a studio wants to render a movie. Does that mean every single participant of the network has to download a file with a size of, I don't know, 50TB? Or it would be done in chunks? I guess so, but even if, then the difference between cloud render farms and random unknown people is that those farms have S tier network infrastructure behind them. Actually that's far more complex, because in most cases both clients and providers use some sort of multipath routing solution, not a 1mbps wifi you're tanking from your neighbor. They are also reliable because there is an actual company behind them, that you usually sign a contract with, and a company that you can sue if something goes wrong. Does otoy take responsibility for the service that they (their miners) provide? What about security? Can miners see what they're rendering? Even if it's somehow protected I'm sure it can be bypassed as it renders on your physical hardware. A single frame leaked from let's say a new Marvel movie can cause massive problems for the studio. Again, you can hold cloud rendering companies accountable, what about otoy? And then what is the purpose of this $RNDR token? I mean if you can pay for the service using their "credits", and those credits are strictly tied to the computing power they provide, then the moment $RNDR token becomes more expensive than the credit what do you do with it? ..sell? so it means is kinda price-locked? What am I missing here? I have so many questions. But anyway I wish this project good luck

It's 4x cheaper when you don't use the token and buy credits. And regardring the file size / rendering a movie: I don't think that the target audience for RNDR are film studios and rather small businesses or freelancers. Regarding security, AFAIK nobody can see anything, it's heavily encrypted and the way it works, nodes can't access any of the actual scenes files / contents of the packages they get to render. I'm pretty sure OTOY is very much behind that, making sure that actually works because it would have heavy legal implications. RNDR has been around for some time now and I haven't heard a single case in which that was a problem. Still though, Marvel or the companies doing VFX for Marvel movies (ILM, etc.) would probably never use RNDR because they're a) not using octane for the most part, b) heavy NDAs and c) have custom solutions for that stuff. The purpose of that token is that it makes it attractive for people to run their nodes on the RNDR network and if the token goes up in value: Good, they can sell it. If it goes down, they can use it to render their own stuff. You can pretty much render a whole project without spending a penny (well.... in terms of buying credits... power bills are a different story) when you have the hardware and are very active as a node. But again - I know a bit, but probably not all of it. If you have more questions, I'm pretty sure they have answers in the OTOY / Octane discord. There's a RNDR channel in there and the guys who helped me during the YTYB project are all in there.

Do you reckon you could create a video regarding putting your GPUs on the RNDR network in order to mine $RNDR?

Nice to see a tut from you! I'd like to see the Orbx export done the Dino Muhic way. He claims it could be exported 15x faster but I've never made it work despite trying for hours. So a tut could be a cool thing.

Thanks for the video! I've heard of RNDR before, but never had time to get familiar with it, plus I got too comfortable using local GPU-farms :) Will definitely try it out when there will be an opportunity.

Any idea where I can access a good tutorial on using my old crypto GPU's to provide power to render? It seems much more profitable.
