When it comes to age, a lot of people take this "adulthood" at the age of 100 too serious. Even a 30 year old Blood Elf has seen a lot of shit in his lifetime. So they mature as fast as all the other races, but just live longer. Once i played with a guy who claimed that his character was "just a kid" at the age of 60+... So dumb.

I feel you did skip over something in this video with the class section. It would be a rare thing, but a Blood Elf warrior could RP as a Spellbreaker, which are basicly warriors specificly trained to combat mages, which is helped along by the Elves' ability to feed on magic.

This is an old video, but I've been roleplaying a Blood Elf since 2012 and, sorry to burst your bubble, but Blood Elves age the exact same as humans. Give or take, at least. They aren't socially accepted as an adult until around 120, but an 18 year old Blood Elf will physically be as developed as an 18 year-old human. The only difference is that the aging dramatically slows when they reach their twenties, and they can stay in that 'stage' for hundreds of years.

Neat video. I never played on a roleplay server. I have heard from old friends that more role-playing guilds stuck together aftet wrath of the lich king. Blood elves are a great race, i have a paladin (bc and wrath main), warlock, hunter and rogue. The rest of my characters are orks and cows. I loved the original blood knight lore. I left for iraq when the sunwell raid opened and didnt come back until almost the end of wrath.

Decent guide, but I feel like you mixed up a bit of information in this video that is a very strong disservice to the Blood Elves as a whole. They are natural born hunters. All Elves are natural born hunters. Yes, the majority of their society focuses on magic, but Elves as a whole, Kaldorei to Sin'dorei, are very, very close with nature. Regardless of whether they're magister of rangers, they all keep a very close eye on their lands and how to keep them, and the animals within them, healthy and beautiful. Also, the Elven race as a whole boasts arguably the best archers on Azeroth, with the Blood Elves being no exception to that rule. To say that a race, who's skill with a bow stealth are nearly unmatched, are not natural born hunters, is to strike down the heart of their society, and their heritage from the Kaldorei, who are highly skilled in all things natural and hunting based. Before the took to magic, their kind help a bow. If any of them were to give up their magic, their rangers could arguably double is regiment size, in a very short time.

The idea that blood elves don't become adults until ~100 is strictly from the non-canon WoW RPG books. From Sylvanas' official story, it is stated that, "she had not yet seen her twentieth autumn," when she was preparing to become a leader, suggesting that, even societally, blood / high elves become adults around the same age as humans, though they obviously live MUCH longer.

I know this is an old video but there are some mistakes. First of all having a demon out in Silvermoon isn't punishable, you can see such npcs around. Secondly blood elven paladins do not use the light as normal paladins do at the end of tbc and durring wotlk it is said that they draw their light from the sunwell much like how they used to do draw it from Muru. I'm not really good with lore (I have suspected a few things but still i'm terrible) but where do the high elves reside? I had thought that the elves dropped out of the alliance after the war with the orcs and those who survived the lich king's assault were turned into blood elves. However there appears to still be some high elves assisting the alliance which has me wondering (blizzard won't make them playable so theres very little "wondering" about that) if there is any lore why they would choose to join the alliance unlike the blood elves?

Not all of the elves lived in Quel'Thalas and many of them were all over the kingdom so the ones that stayed there, mostly remained as high elves and not much changed for them.

Great video however I must point out that the age part is slightly inaccurate. A blood elf at the age of 20 is still just an adult. Valeera i believe is younger than Varian and is still considered to be adult. Te thing with WoW ages is more about life span than hitting adulthood.

I do occasionally role as a blood elf warrior and my warrior couldn't really "fight together with the light". She is pretty much like the black sheep in her family because could for some reason not use magic in the same way as the rest of the blood elf population. Just like a simple human who wanted to fight for her land and family with no real special "abilities". So basically, if you're going to roll a belf warrior, that belf was perhaps supposed to be a paladin. It could also be a former blood knight who, after all these years, could no longer use whatever magic the rest of the blood knights are using.

Eirigwyn jones high elves and blood elves are almost the same, there is only one obvious difference and that is the eye color. green for belf(fel), blue for helf (arcane). if your character did not feed on fel magic after the sunwell was destroyed you can just go ahead and roleplay that

Kat`ranis Remar As far as I know the blood elves joined the Horde bacause they needed help, and they could not turn to the Alliance, because in the end of the Third War Kael'thas allied himself and his people with the naga (though only because they needed some support against the Scourge), and Grand Marshal Garithos sentenced all the blood elves to death because of this (he said that the Naga are "inhuman, so they cannot be trusted"). Therefore Kael'thas had to escape with his people before their certain death, and the Naga leader, Lady Vashj helped them in this attempt. She convinced them to join her by mentioning their common ancestry as former night elves. After their escape Kael'thas and his forces allied themselves with Illidan Stormrage, who taught them the ways how to syphon fel energies from demons to feed their addiction to magic. Because of these the Alliance doesn't trust them at all, and the blood elves' arrogance doesn't let them to try rejoin their forces with their former allies. So they needed allies. They had to turn to the Banshee Queen, Sylvanas Windrunner and her Forsaken undead and their acceptance into the Horde was mainly thanks to her, because she still cares for her former people even in undeath (note that there are undead elves in the ranks of the Forsaken). Because of these I think that the lore fits well in this part. They just needed allies and found them only in the Horde. Under the wise leadership of Warchief Thrall they were accepted into the Horde with open arms because he threats each races as equals (he had some mistrust only in the Forsaken thanks to the undeath they are cursed with, and first time he thought they could be dangerous). After solving a lot of their problems they found the peoples of the Horde honorable allies and (as you said) they have done everything they could to serve its causes. Generally the Horde looks like savage people's society. It's not true. They are as much honorable as the people of the Alliance. The New Horde is based on outcasts who had to find their place in the world. The blood elves in this way are outcasts, betrayed by their own leader (Kael'thas), thin in numbers and they could't found their place in the world. The Horde gives them savety and they pledged their loyalty to them. The Blood Elves totally fit in the Horde. They have less common features with the Orcs, Tauren and Trolls, but all of these races needed help and the Orcish Horde gave it to them at the time of the Third War. These people joined together to fight back their enemies and oppressors, like the Tauren needed help against the centaur as well as the trolls against the mysterious Sea Witch and her murloc forces, just like the Forsaken against the remnants of the old Alliance as well as the Scourge. Thrall allied the Orcish Horde with them because of empathy and he helped these races in their fights. The Blood Elves have a rightful place among the New Horde. Plz tell me I'm wrong:)

Kolbe Andris yes you are right about that i said that they dont fit when you see them at first not that they dont fit entirely with the horde and you are right that the horde looks like a barbaric faction at first but that they are honorable just as alliance and you are pretty much right about everything you said ,the blood elves did join thanks to the forsaken but later on they started truly helping the horde and trying to earn the warchiefs trust.although sunreavers made a great mistake with helping garrosh.Forsaken also help the horde but they kind of use it as a means to an end they dont exactly care sylvanas does care about the blood elves but not about the other races,while blood elves are trying to be helpful and earn the warchiefs trust because not many races of the horde(and pretty much every other raceXD)trusted them cuz the bad reputation kael gave them by siding with illidan and later with the burning legion.I tried rping a high elf but in the end it didnt work out that well doron is right that it cant be good cuz your hostille towards the alliance and friendly towards the horde.Ty for correcting me:D
