I would also like to know a little more about the mundane aspects of night elf culture: like do they normally have children or is that a rarity since they are (maybe) immortal, when they marry do they share a last name or keep their original last names, what do they do when a night elf dies (do they have a grand ceremony involving lots of people because their immortality makes death a big deal, or is it sort of kept secret, etc?) and stuff like that. Does anyone know where I could find more in-depth info about night elves, because they are by far my favorite race and I'd love to know more about them for the sake of roleplaying.

Yukine Chris I disagree on the Night elves though. The only really arrogant night elves would be Illidan and Staghelm. I don't see Malfurion, Broll Bearmantle, and all the peace-loving tree hugger druids, sentinels, huntresses, priestesses, etc as arrogant in many ways. If anything they are alot more humble due to their vast respect for nature and all life. Also, i think trolls are more maniacal and devious than egocentric or arrogant.

Well, i can understand Warriors because Elune is an Warrior Goddess. The Sentinels and Rangers are the warriors from the Night Elf society, and most of them, if not all of them, are females. Since Night Elf society is mostly female-centered. Males are mostly Mages or Druids (Still can't understand how an Night Elf on today's Azeroth could work, though. Arcane Magic is strictly forbidden in their society. Only if you role-play an outcast such as Illidan you could say yeah: There's still some mages on on Night Elf's society, but if not, i can't understand how of a sudden they have arcanists, mages and archmages).

João Baptista Because in Cataclysm they saw that Nature can’t save them every single time and they had to accept the Highborne back in their society and thus new evolution of Night Elf mages began while the original Highborne are still around helping and training the Alliance and the Night elves.

chase s Nature is pretty much just plants and animals, which live upon and make general use (drinking, keeping warm, breathing) of the elements. However that does not mean that they are one and the same. Also, the Elementals that give the Shamans their abilities are much like spirits, and the elementals also were banished into a whole other plane of existance. It takes a certain connection, which is most likely a born trait, to that plane of existence, to even be able to communicate/wield those abilities. (like when the shamanistic orcs pre-horde went against the values of the draenor elementals, those elementals turned away from them and thus those shamans lost their powers to wield the elements. Same as if those elementals haven't gotten use to their presence yet (thrall on draenor) or are hindered/hurt, then Shamans all over become relatively weaker than they were.) Druids aren't so much in tune with other forms of conscious (such as elementals) as they are with either mimicking, or wielding the powers of plants and animals. They revere sentient animal spirits, but besides turning into those animals, or summoning plant life/powers of the cosmos, they do not truly take charge/control Nature. Just sorta....buddy buddy with it. As such, if Nature were to be harmed, or distressed, Druids would be concerned and try to fix it....but unlike the Shaman, wouldn't neccessarily lose their abilities for it. For example, the Satyr are one of the most anti-nature demonic presence on Azeroth, constantly corrupting, killing, or shaping it to their heinous ways. However, (as seen in game) there are still Satyr Druids who transform into cats and do other druidy things. (but Satyr Druids are still relatively rare). So as you see, from their abilities sources, their ability to harness those abilities in every situation, and even to the very classes itself, Shamans and Druids are very distinct and different entities.

chase s from what I know druids are more focused on the life (animals and plants) whereas shamans are more about the land. It's a bit like real life religions where the beliefs are similar but the interpretation is different.

My Character is a Rogue but its fine because it fits with his back story and he didn't really have a choice because he had to hide his identity so he stealth's around quietly so he won't be seen by the guards or detected by them.

I just started roleplaying and find it really cool. I have some issues tho, first: i am roleplaying as a stormwind defender but i am a night elf druid. I dont know how to make a proper lore for me to put in this situation. Second: are we have to get xmogs for our role? Like i mentioned at the first one, i am a druid so how can i make a stormwind guard xmog? People in my guild are helping me a lot on this type of warcraft. I have never done roleplaying before and i would like to heard something about it.

There is a lot of druid subclasses: druid of the claw, of the prey, etc (don't know the others in English. There is the bird one, the wolf one, the cat one, etc)

Hunter is just the name WoW gives the class. Archer is the base Nelf archetype. It's even the base unit in warcraft RTS, which would probably most closely resemble a Marksmanship spec'd hunter (petless, of course.)

I got a question I am currently rp an hunter nelf that has a dark personality he is empty inside,having an voice inside himself saying darkness feeds upon you,he is arrigant doesn't care for dying, he kills people for nothing he just kills people when he is ordered, he is also a bit impulsive, and again he kills, he had a hatred towards orcs because they killed his parents ripped them apart while he watched them killing his parents, pluss he has gone a bit mad and haves voices in his head, but I can't find out how he talks the speech pattern that he is gonna use, can I please get some help, Pluss he his cold hearted

Stian Bårli then you he is hearing the whispers of either void lords or old gods. But you have to be careful with his actions in major cities or places. It I would say rp as either a shadow priest or a void elf.

Possibly some conjecture here, but let me know what you think about these: I am not sure how accurate this is, but I do get the impression that night elf civilians are actually very rare, and that most members of their society do take up one of the potentially combat class roles like druid, priest, ranger, warrior, etc. Looking at games like warcraft 3, I also feel like we see a lot more female night elves then male, so I wonder if maybe they have a high female birth rate, which could somewhat explain the reasons for the gender trends in their society. Possibly.

Another personality type would have to be the Conservative Night Elf. Rarity: Common/Uncommon Difficulty: Medium/Hard Keywords: Stubborn, Traditionalist, Old-Fashioned, Xenophobic, Love for their culture & heritage. Whereas many Night elves are 'peaceful' and respecting of all life, welcoming other races of the Alliance with open arms, there are more conservative types who hold very traditionalist views. Traditional night elf culture is very religious and very xenophobic. As such, these kinds of Night Elves hold other races in low regard. This can be as mild as a tendency to be more aloof among mixed groups, and finding interactions with non-Night Elves to be awkward exchanges, to shunning the presence of non-night elf people in Kaldorei territories, or even outright hating other races with thinly veiled contempt or open hostility. A more conservative Night Elf isn't exactly self-absorbed or arrogant (though they can be), they don't have to be complete douchebags at all times to fit the role. They are very defined by their culture and ancient heritage, which is their key roleplaying piece, this means they act more like the ancient night elves might. If Tyrande & Malfurion represent those with modern and more accepting ideals, good examples of a traditionalist Night Elf are Maiev and Fandral Staghelm. _(Also before anyone gets the wrong idea, "conservative" has a literal definition that doesn't relate to real-world politics._ _"Con·serv·a·tive_ _kənˈsərvədiv/_ _adjective_ _1.
