Selfspot Perhaps I’m to anal about this, but in my book most of your examples fall in to the regions of tech house / melodic tech. Either way, to use some kind of a rolling 16th bass is pretty much sop in many different kinds of electronic music. Im not discussing the technique as much as the sound, and that in the vid my friend is a psy bass. 😉 When I’m talking techno, I’m talking: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJa6cnt3rtGSoLM kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4bbkoKOfMSShbs kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWbJXoiKoLl6fKc kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZqQg5ipfrOkbrc kzbin.info/www/bejne/maa3pZiFnKl5hrc kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZfZpKGodtOegbs kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJCrdnqQl9-nhtU kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIvRlIeCr8mYaac

2:23 Dude, a filter will not do anything to a sine wave whatsoever, because a pure sine has literally zero harmonics. At most, if the filter frequency is close to the sine frequency it can change the volume of the sine but never the timbre.
@Bollingersound5 жыл бұрын
thats what im sayin!

Assuming it's actually a true, pure sine wave... they often aren't. Still going to be pretty minimal difference. I thought the exact same thing, fwiw. :)

notice how there are knobs other than the freq cutoff. the drive, fatness, and resonance will all change the sound of the sine wave.

this isn't true for a gated sine-wave however, which actually has several harmonics, essentially as a consequence of the uncertainty principle.

Zen, I just spent about 2 hours following along, recreating all this stuff, fiddling around with LFO Tool, shaping envelopes between sounds, tweaking Serum envelopes, and about dozen lightbulbs went on. This was time very well spent for me. I really appreciate these tips. It's geeky and not very sexy stuff, but the results will make any producer a bona fide Love Machine. I could feel the grooves just fall in place and really take shape. These basics are so essential and will really help me out. Great stuff!

Question for you, or anyone else who wants to chime in.
