One could argue that when done properly this kind of hairline looks even more natural than a lace-front wig. There's no lace to disguise, so it's pretty seamless.

Hello - please let me recommend the Marilyn Tease Brush for this technique. Back in the 90’s ( Natasha Simms, me ) - living in Milwaukee, former miss LaCage lol - we didn’t have lace. I also would use a disposable razor and a tooth brush to smooth down the final hair line. It creates peaks and valleys that help fool the eye. Best!

Interesting point about the theatre vs drag origins. Considering the word drag originated from Shakespeare I'm not too sure that the two *don't* overlap in a way. I think it was Sasha on a Build Series interview that said that the art of drag has been around for centuries, and doesn't need to re-label or rebrand itself in the mainstream space to be celebrated or accepted (e.g. calling drag in museum spaces as generic performance art). What your are doing here is art and upholding its history and legacy. Cheers to you, Jaymes!

What’s the best way to secure a rooted hairline wig? Is wig tape okay? Should I glue it down? Just curious how to protect the hairline. Thanks! Love you!
@Midieee7 ай бұрын
It's been a year and i have the same question. Have you learned anything about this in a year?
@chrisbogard76327 ай бұрын
@@Midieee so I actually did make a rooted hairline on a Spirit Halloween wig lol, and it turned out pretty cute. The key was to make sure the rooted hairline was solid. It didn’t go anywhere, and all I used was one of those grippy silicone wig bands over the wig cap. It stayed secure af.
@Midieee7 ай бұрын
@@chrisbogard7632 ah thankyou so much! I think I'm gonna glue it but the wig is a very hard front wig and white so it takes a few hours to tease it.
