As a lead into tomorrow's video, I'm curious how many people are actively using a USB hub these days. I have used one in the past (mainly for data transfer as it was connected to the PC), but some are using them for strictly charging these days

In the video you are saying that rooting the device will not make you lose any apps or files. It is true, but to root the device you need to unlock the bootloader first and that will factory reset the phone.

yes, because this video is not about unlocking the bootloader. it's about rooting. in the bootloader unlock video, I mention the factory data reset requirement

I managed to first root android 15 by installing the beta and then installing my latest (before android 15) magisk patched 14 and it rooted and also kept me on the 15 beta. I havent watched the video yet so idk if thats how you did it or not but it isnt working for me anymore after an automatic security patch.

Does Magisk on Pixel Phones als work with Android 15 final? After rooting process Pixel Launcher freezes and process seems not to be successfull. Went back to Stock boot and everything seems to be fine again.

I'm on Android 15 (AP41.240823.009) on a P7Pro and everything is working as ought to. Maybe try using Magisk canary version.

Does it make a difference if instead of flashing the patched-boot image file, you fastboot boot boot.img and doing a direct install from the magisk app? Or are they both the same?

That would both be the same (they both patch the file with magisk binaries. Although with the method you mentioned, that may include the benefit of the magisk app creating a backup of your stock boot.img file And it would just be a temporary boot, so if you (or anyone else) patched the wrong file, then they/you wouldn't be stuck in a bootloop I may do my future root videos this way since it's not that much longer and includes the added protections/and having that backup

Good instructions, but not working on my Pixel 6 with the latest Android 15 Beta Aug/24 release. After flashing the patched boot image everything looks okay until I tried rebooting and I ended up in a Recovery page with the options to "Try Again" or "Factory Reset". However, I was able get back to the fastboot page, flash my original Aug boot image, and reboot my phone properly. Any suggestions? I wonder if the latest Android Beta 15 release or its image is the problem.
