I know I'm about 5 years late, but i ran into the problem FAIL - "custom binary (recovery) blocked by fap lock". So what I did was restart the phone once I got that error code. I went back into settings and in the "Developer options" menu, toggled the switch next to the "OEM unlocking" entry to enable it. Then I turned phone off again and repeated the process in this video, and everything went smoothly. Of course **do at your own risk**, this just worked for me. I'm just playing around with an old phone which is garbage to me anyway. Inam, thank you for posting this video!! Love your accent .

Thanks for the instruction dude!! Now those of you who ran into the boot loop issue... DONT forget to clear system caches!! To do that Press Power+Home+Vol_up button simultaneously, then select "wipe cache partition" form the recovery screen.

guys i doubted kingroot but it actually worked for me on my galaxy s7 and for all the people hating on this guy he is doing the right thing just you could have missed a step also before you do root make sure to write down all device info so if something goes bad you can download the right firmware and restart your device and get your stuff back.

I'm able to download the appropriate .md5 for my SM-G920V, but it fails when I hit Start. After that, my S6 is no longer recognized via USB and I have to start the entire process over (which fails again). Any recommendations?

HEADS UP!!!! For T-mobile users (assuming the same for other carriers too), who are planning to root S6/S6 Edge make sure to keep knox turned off in user settings if it is not already turned off by default. If this is not done, and you follow the process here or the TWRP procees it is a 9/10 possibility your phone will get stuck in boot loop after a recovery is installed. If you turned knox on like me, unknowing the consequence, then followed this tutorial, you must then reset your phone using ChainFire recovery. Once reset and knox is confirmed off, follow this method or TWRP method again and you should no longer boot loop. Source: It happen to me

My phone is Galaxy s6 edge plus I cannot follow your steps because I did factory reset and I do not know the google account used on the phone before doing the factory reset therefore I cannot enable USB Debugging My computer Windows 10 does not recognize my phone when I connect it via USB cable and it shows my phone under Universal Serial Bus Controller as Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed) even though I installed the latest USB samsung drivers on my computer Therefore Odin does not see my phone when I put on Download mode Do you know a way to solve these issues on my phone?
