as of 1/21/2016 this root method works on the sprint galaxy s5 from sprint running android lollipop. did not run into any issues while I was rooting your vids are awesome i watched theses rooting vids since the s3 lol

Thanks, Tim. It worked perfectly. The only small thing that scared the s**t out of me, is that Odin no longer has a "PDA" button. They have replaced it with "AP"button. It's the exact same layout / Design, but now it's called AP instead of PDA. I Followed your instructions and now I have successfully rooted my Galaxy S5 (International version SM-G900F).

Just tried this for my 5.1 smg900T (tmobile ), Odin has been tweaked since the vid (2 year difference XD). Instead of PDA it's AP and layout is slightly different. During reboot process phone got stuck in restart/power down loop. Had to wipe system cache in recovery mode but I'm rooted!

If you are wondering why your s5 is stuck in recovery mode it is because you cannot root your android device if it is the 4.4.4 update

I have the Sprint variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5. Just bought it last night, and the first thing I did was look up your video on how to root it so that I could get all the apps and app data back that I had on my old GS3. I did everything in the video, and successfully flashed the md5 file to my phone, and the phone rebooted. However, all the root check apps that I have all say that my phone is not rooted. Can you help?

Went to sprint store told them what I did. The tech guy laughed a bit and reflashed the stock firmware for free and 90 minutes later my phone was like new. It did not reset the knox counter though. I am done with rooting. Samsung is a lot smarter than me. Good luck

I am totally ignorant when it comes to stuff as such, so I wanna ask you if I root a Sprint S5 successfully, is it possible to connect to Verizon or that has nothing to do with rooting??? If the answer is NO, is there any way on earth to unlock the assigned service provider to enable service connection to a different provider? Since Sprint and Verizon are both CDMA providers, I am assuming the phone design is one and the same on the unit but each have locking in place. I hope you can answer my questions, thanks

1 it wouldn't let me extract the zip file so i copied and pasted it and I downloaded Odin but a few things have changed pda and file dump has changed. its now called instead of pda it says ap and the file dump has now change to binary size? wtf confused.com but I ticked the ap and put the file in pressed start done everything as u said and it says ur defice is now rooted.... i hope it has and i hope it will be fine it was my first try thank you.
