@@ThePLWarrior I have no issues with both operation or the winch lever. I contacted Badlands and they said, “you can do it, however it voids your warranty.” I didn’t really have a choice so I opened it up and rotated it. It was fairly easy but it was like exploratory surgery, learning as I go.

Did yours come with synthetic line or did you replace it ? If you replaced it which rope did you use ?

Thank you for your question, I believe it was cheaper for me to buy the steel cable winch and then swap it out with synthetic rope so I bought a steel cable winch 9500 pounds and I replaced it with an 80 foot synthetic rope also made by badlands that you can pick up at Harbor freight.

Does anyone know if the process would be the same for the Badlands Apex 5500? The power lugs come out on the right hand side of them at 3 and 9 o'clock. I've put one on a Yamaha R-Max and the 3 o'clock lug is extremely close to the front bumper

@@heavenleigh111 that’s a good question. I’m sorry I don’t have the answer to that. I basically did exploratory surgery in my winch until I figured it out. You might have to do the same.

​@@wayfaringoverlanderyes I may have to. Wouldn't it be nice if we could contact customer service or someone at Badlands that could answer technical questions for us? Unfortunately they don't seem to have a website at all 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@heavenleigh111 I contacted Badlands and all they could tell me was it is possible to clock the winch, but they were not allowed to tell me how and they said it would void the warranty.

​@@wayfaringoverlander Ha! My goodness. Yeah I guess one could mess up the seals. For some unknown reason I didn't buy the extended warranty. Heck mine had already run out before I ever got it mounted. Would've been great for me if the lugs came straight out the end cap so that clocking wouldn't matter at all. At least we know that it is possible now. So if I can just find the time to do it. Thanks a bunch for contacting them. I wasn't able to find any website for them.

@@heavenleigh111 I think it’s through Harbor Freight customer service. I had previously called Badlands company but that was a different company altogether
