if rand mcnally were a half ass decent company, they'd sell the software running on this tablet, and allow people to put it on their phone or tablet. They basically bought a cheap again tablet for 100 bucks, installed their software and then sold it to us for 500. pathetic. At least put the software on a hallway decent tablet.

Rand McNally pulled an Apple move with this one. Maybe someday garmin will pull a Samsung hardware or equivalent quality tablet out running a modern version of android with their Dezl software GPS. That would be worth buying.

@@brucejones597 garmin dezl, or rand McNally are both good I just find the garmin easier to use. This tnd80 tablet works fine I just think they should've used better and more modern hardware a,t this price point. It does however work fine. I have a return tnd80 that works fine but I definitely don't recommended a return from factoryoutletstore.com. buy from rand themselves, or the truckstops

Hi Big Jon, I am W.G. , I have an TND 720, just bought an TND 740.. I would like to display the Hwy listed Speed Limit & my Speed.. Those 3 little horizontal lines are Not on my Display.. 2nd. I would also like to see the Estimated ETA, it is on my 720.. Thx. 73, W.G. Davis

Update, my ETA shows most of the time, but it is really small.. Clarification; The Posted Speed is at the bottom Left, where is my actual Speed?? It used to be just above the Posted Speed on my TND 720.. (for some of U, yes I have a speedometer on my vehicle)

So.. I was hoping that you'd show how to plan a route with multiple stops on this. Did I miss something? 🤔

Go to main menu, tap Choose Destination, then tap Multiple Stop Trips. The first thing you do is tap New Trip, then key in a name for your multiple route trip and and hit enter to save it. I usually name my multiple route trips my trip number. After your Rand McNally saves it, it will display a list of saved multiple stop trips. Select the trip you just named from the list by tapping it. Then click Add Locations. You can then add locations by entering a New Address, via your Address Book, via a POI, and via History. Using history comes in handy when using a via point you manually create to add as a stop to force routing. Once all of your stops are added including the truck stops, rest areas, parking areas, drop lots, terminals, etc. you plan to stop at and all of the stops are in the correct order, tap Start Trip. The route for that multi stop trip will be created. Then review your trip to confirm everything is routed correctly and as you want it. If it's out of order, go back to main menu. Tap Choose Destination, Multi Stop Trips, the trip you are currently working on, then Reorder Trip. Then tap Manual, Automatic/Optimize (up to 10 stops), or Reverse, whatever the case may be. Then reorder your trip. Once everything is in the correct order, tap the OK button. Then tap Start Trip to create the route. I use muliti stop trips for virtually everything I do on my Rand McNally GPS.

your dash must be smooth to stick if there is any texture it wont but you can get a plastic round disk and 3m it to the dash then stick your gps to that

Canada is (thankfully )metric, they use kilometers, weights is in tons (metric tons, witch 1 tn is 1000 kilos) fuel economy is liters every 100 kilometers ( L / 100Km )

Sounds and definitely looks like all those requesting your how to on the Rand McNally can't read and this makes it impossible to read and understand the directions booklet that comes with your gps. Typical with drivers today.

Thanks I'm kinda picky about my electronics, and with the cam lens stationary, with the way I like my RM720 facing towards me more instead of the bunk and sitting on the dash to avoid dropping off the window. I'm thinking that the camera on the tablet might look to far to the right and not cover the left side of the truck as well. Which is where more cut offs happen from.

+Curtis Powell You get WiFi through your cell phone carrier. Rand McNally sells real time traffic, weather, and fuel prices as an annual subscription, but you need WiFi to access these services and getting WiFi is up to you. I think the subscription price was around $85 if I remember correctly.

Hey Jon, nice video describing all the features of the TND 70. I think the first thing you should do when you purchase one of these is buy the AVG Antivirus app. Viruses wreak havoc on these and Rand McNally wants $100 if the unit gets nuked by a virus.
