Hello there Renn: One thing you forgot to mention is the absolute dogshit micro-transaction system in the game which has you literally paying for extra save slots and load-out slots. Want a second save slot? that will be $10 please. One save slot sets you back either 900 or 1000 SV coins (not 100% sure of the amount if you could clear it up for me that would be great) and for 1150 SV coins its literally about $10 so $10 for a second playthrough if you want to keep your first character in tact. Konami is literally charging you for super basic shit that should be in every video game and Konami is charging you for it. It just goes to show how much of a cash-in ths new metal gear is to the franchise after they butchered it with the Pachinko machines and how they treated Hideo Kojima during the tail end of the MGS5 development adn how they treat their staff as a whole. Hell, who would buy a game which the name has been completely tarnished by the company who made it. Hell no gamer in the right mind would give Konami any money at this juncture. Konami has lost all respect to all gamers out their at this point and not to mention other developers and the gaming media alike. I wish Konami the best of luck with their flash-in-the-pan Pachinko machines cause they are going to need it after all the bridges they burned with the gaming crowd.

Fun fact: They actually did want the first game using the Fox engine to be a close quarters melee game, however it remains unknown whether they built the engine for that purpose or not. The first incarnation of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance was made using the fox engine (the one you see in the watermelon trailer) but they ultimately handed it off to Platinum because they realized their melee system was shit and they had no idea what to do. That was a smart move from someone with artistic integrity who knew when to stop and focus on something else.

I also got into MGS from watching my dad play MGS1 on the PS1. I used to try to play it after school but whenever I triggered an alert I would either get scared and restart the console, or wait for my dad to get home so he could help me. I still remember getting caught in the hallway outside the Psycho Mantis fight and running around those pillars / bathrooms and feeling like it was impossible to lose the guards until my dad did it for me. I used to play the VR missions when my grandparents visited and they still mention how impressed they were with how far games had come at that point. I also remember getting MGS3 the day it launched and crying because my little sister snapped the disc in half trying to get it out of the case, and my dad had to drive back to the store to get a replacement copy. I grew up with this series, and seeing it left to rot as pachinko machines and soulless spinoffs like Survive really feels like all of Konami's management just wanted to kick my feelings in the dick for having the audacity to love their franchise.

I'm a massive MGS fan and saw this was shit from the get go, I didn't even try the beta. Survival, zombies, crafting, looting, stamina bars, base building, tower defence mode. it was guaranteed to be trash. I guess the only good thing is the engine.

This has _never_ happen before in metal gear. Long cutscenes- Long alert phases- Super long Loading screens for entire chapters(MGS4)- Long codec calls that slow down the pace significantly(the ones after boss fights in MGS4 were some of the worse in time)- and of course LONG ASS CREDITS AFTERMATH.

This game reminds me of 2 other shitty games: Dead Rising 4 and Mass Effect Andromeda. Andromeda is boring and underdeveloped but functions on some levels, Dead Rising 4 has no reason to exist and i wouldn't play it even if it was free but at least it doesn't have microtransactions. Survive is phenomenon for me - why would i pay 40$ for "fan" (cuz Konami apparently hates this franchise) fic MGSV mode. On top of that they have audacity to throw microtransactions into this. Which is bold move, cause i can't imagine anyone wanting to play this more than an hour, let alone multiple characters.

I barely got onboard Tempest before shutting it off and i'm so glad i didn't buy it. Animations are the least of Andromeda's problems. Writing and characters just killed this game for me. Literally only interesting character was Ryder sr. and they killed him off at the beggining in nonsensical way. It's The Last Jedi level of bullshit and i'm baffled that some people think it's good. Sure it's better than Survive and DR4 but that's not saying much.

These are things that have been in MGS since day one. I personally haven't played the game but I've read it isn't that bad and the micromanagement later on is fun for people who like that kinda stuff. Did renn even beat the game? Probably shouldn't review a game if you haven't explored all the tools you're given and have even beat the game. I'm assuming endgame is an important part but again I haven't played it yet. I'm hoping that this is just a side thing Konami put out and they explore some interesting parts of MGS lore. I'd also like to see weird non-canon "what if" stories in the universe. But knowing how fans treat post-kojima konami they'll complain about that too.

I don't think he did. Like, a *lot* of people aren't even touching co-op in a lot of reviews with and that's like a huge selling point for this. Honestly, my main reason for picking this up was just because I loved MGO and the co-op in peacewalker as well. I just went in expecting some good old fashioned co-op and happened to get a pretty fun story mode as well. Pay close attention to the footage in these as well. Some people only show parts close to the beginning. Not only does it barely show off the game, but it makes the review extremely questionable. This one in _particular_ doesn't even use spear outside of first person and he calls it boring. There are fancy attacks made for cleaving crowds of these things with that weapon and there are definitely other weapons and weapon types. There's even a class system which gives you shortcuts for the simpler things that need managing. In a nutshell, its like these guys weren't even trying. I mean so many people aren't even showing off cutscenes. Believe it or not, they might be adding some more what-if's into this game, but I hear ya! I hope so too.

I found your channel a few months ago and I enjoy your videos and humor even if I do not agree with your opinions on them. As someone who is actively enjoying Metal Gear Survive, I would invite you to watch my In Defense Of Metal Gear Survive Video. I attempt to explain what I like about the game and show some of the questionable criticism presented by many big youtubers. I can completely understand not liking the game as not every game is for everyone and if you don’t care for survival games. When you stated the mgs games you experienced it showed me as a viewer that you like them but not a series fan. Mgs5 has great controls but it did lack the soul and story of the universe. I find the spear and fence strategy to be the go until you shortly earn a gun, bow and some explosives. The exploration is what I enjoy about the game. I look forward to more of your videos as I never really know what you’re going to cover next.

If they did not fire kojima it could have been good if you saw the ending of the phantom pain and the vocal cord parasite had some kind of control over some of the soldiers Maybe it would be snake needing to gather supplies to help the infected and it would play like mgsv but with a new corporation or even a cult who see the infection as some kind of blessing and every now and again a horde of infected that could also act like the wandering mother base soldiers would come by Basically it could have been good if they had at least tried to think like kojima but no they made a cash grab of a game
