I live on western port bay in Victoria ,Australia . It’s shallow with extensive mud flats which makes access difficult ,in fact there used to be a prison on French island in the middle of the bay,2 convicts escaped but they had to cross the mud flats not realising how soft and deep the mud is they both got trapped above the waist in the mud, they were caught before the tide came in, which was good because they both would have drowned. So Ime going to make a pair of these pattens so I can launch my sailing canoe anywhere at low tide
