Helpful diagnostic questions at the end. Social media hasn't yielded a lot of 'foreign' sales, but friends and family have been excited by the idea when I've posted. Specifically Facebook, but also surprisingly my nearly dormant LinkedIn. A few co-workers who I hardly have interaction with on a daily basis had picked up my books. Who knew? This also gave us a topic to connect with at the office as well. Church is also a good face-to-face community, and I think the more people know you, the more likely they are to give it a look. With that in mind, some very close family may raise a brow and be slow to jump onboard.

You know I never think of LinkedIn for social media even though it clearly is! Mine is probably about as dormant as yours so I always end up forgetting about it lol. It’s always a pleasant surprise when you find out that strangers (or nearly strangers) have bought your book, so congratulations on that! And I agree that church would be a good place for face to face interactions about your work - it’s a great starting point for word-of-mouth “referrals” (for lack of a better term), especially since it’s usually such a supportive community.
