Which is the better Custom Audience to turn into a Lookalike Audience?

thanks for your video. About the value column, does Facebook recognize values in different currencies to USD ?, example: I have a list with my clients and the amount of money they have spent in COP.
@keeganengelbrecht27524 жыл бұрын
Awesome video Ben, thank you. 2 quick questions: 1. When initially creating an audience based on customers who have purchased, we'll start with a list of say 100 customers. As we run ads, our customer list will grow - does the source customer list continue to grow as well and further refine the lookalike audience or will we need to go back and update the source list down the road? 2. Similar question when creating an audience based on FB/IG interactions - if we decide to use those that interacted with us in the last 180 days, is that 180 days from the day the audience is created or is it always 180 days in the past on a rolling, go-forward basis? (ie. previous 180 from today, then 180 days from next week, next month, etc) Thanks!!!

One of the most detailed videos On LAA. May I ask, what is the difference between custom audience for Website Visitors vs custom audience for View Content? Aren't they the same? Thanks for the answers!
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot. That depends what your view content event is tracking on your website. If the view content event is only installed on one page then a custom audience for view content will only visit people that visit that page. With a website visitor custom audience you have tons of other options.

Hey Ben, Your videos have been an absolute game-changer for me, so first off, thank you! I am an author who sells my books via Amazon. I would love to create a lookalike based on people who buy my books. As you know, Amazon makes this difficult. Right now, I set up an event pixel for anyone who clicks the "Click here to purchase book" button on my website. Of course, not everyone who clicks will buy. But I figured this is the closest I can get to tracking buyers. Is this the best I can do, or is there a workaround? Thanks!

Hi Ben, great content! Thank you for all your videos, they are so easy to follow! A quick question: I have created a lookalike audience list based on a customer list of around 3800 people, but the Estimated Audience Size is Below 1000. Is this normal? Thanks
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear it :) Yes unfortunately that does happen. Facebook has to match people from your list to actual profiles and that means you often lose about half the people on a list. The actual estimates are quite inaccurate though - so the true number of people matched may well be better than that.
@robertavitiello3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Actually, after about 1 h that number changed to 996,400 - 1,000,000 so my guess is that Facebook just needs extra time to populate the list! What do you think?

This is a great video Ben - thanks! I have one question - I'd like to create a lookalike audience based on an email list, does GDPR become a factor in this? I have privacy policy for people that sign up to the mailing list to accept, but this doesn't include anything about Facebook. Is there a standard line of text that I should add into the Privacy Policy to make sure I'm complying to GDPR? Or is this not an issue here? Thanks! :-)

Hi Ben, a very insightful video! Thanks for sharing this. Had a quick question - while creating website audiences, if we select the option - People who visited a specific webpage, can the url or the webpage be a competitor's page? Or it has to be a page from our own website?

Really valuable video Ben. Much appreciated. 1 quick question - I know you said not to use interest targeting when using LALs but noticed you didn't unselect 'detailed targeting expansion'. Can 'detailed targeting expansion' be completely ignored if no interest targeting is added? I normally uncheck that box when running normal cold campaigns. Not sure if you've ever found it valuable (in any type of campaign) in your experiences. Thanks

@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot. The ad copy won't be translated automatically. In that case I would target other countries that speak different languages in separate ad sets and change those ads accordingly.
@adrianodonofrio95844 жыл бұрын
Ben, great video. Is there any difference from a Lookalike Customer list audience and a Purchase Lookalike Audience?
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
A purchase lookalike audience will update automatically and can only go 180 days into the past. A customer list lookalike won't do either of those things.
@noygoldenberg3624 жыл бұрын
So for creating an LLA off of an email list for a local business for example, you mentioned that we shouldn't do 1-2% LLA because on the ad set level when we set the specific city to target, the LLA audience may be too small, and we should do a higher % LLA. What range or what calculation should we use to find a good % for the area we are targeting? (Or do we create several and wait to see the resulting audience sizes from the variation of %s?) Thanks!

Amazing video, Ben! A bit unrelated, but I'm on a limited budget and cannot afford the optimal campaign setup (3-5 ad sets, multiple images, video, etc). So, I'm wondering what I should do here. I have 2 product variations that I'd like to pit against each other. Should I concentrate on 1 product at a time with multiple ad sets (and say, 1 image in each). Or is it best to test both products against each other using only 1 ad set. Or, should I have only 1 ad set for both products but with multiple creatives for each. Definitely a difficult question to articulate- but basically with my limited startup budget, I really have to focus on one variable at a time and am unsure what needs to be tested first (product type, audience, or creative).
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot. For separate products I would often use different campaigns as they probably have different target cost per purchase numbers. If you are on a budget I would reduce the number of variables though - use less ads and less ad sets.
@bogechoginson37284 жыл бұрын
@@BenHeath Thanks for the help, Ben! So you think it's more important to test less ad sets/audiences and maybe more creatives? Or vice versa?
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
@@bogechoginson3728 no problem. We test more ad creative than audiences. It's quicker and easier to work out which audiences perform best. With ads there are many more variables.
