How to run the Mustang Line Lock feature

We are just testing out the Line Lock feature on the 2020 Mustang GT (“Take Two”).
Disclaimer: Per the Owner's Manual, "Line lock is a feature intended for use at tracks only and should not be used on public roadways. Use of this feature may result in significantly increased rear tire wear. It is intended to condition the rear tires to maximize traction prior to track use."
Releasing Line Lock: While line lock is engaged, you can exit (release) the feature using the OK button. When you press the OK button, line lock releases immediately and normal vehicle function resumes. When line lock engages, a countdown timer shows the remaining.
1. Tread Measurement (Before) - 0:16
2. Conditions - 0:30
3. Engaging Line Lock - 0:44
4. Line Lock (1x) - 0:56
5. Line Lock (0.25x) - 1:12
6. Tread Measurement (After) - 1:40
7. New Wheels and Tires - 2:08

I used to do burnouts in my '98 supercharged, stroked, built 2 valve Mustang years ago on the track and to taunt others to road race, but it certainly burned up my rear brake pads. I have the Ecoboost Mustang now that doesn't have line lock. I do wish I had that feature, but it's not a big deal since I don't take this to the track. Still pretty cool. Thanks for walking us through it.

Ford added line lock to the ecoboost in 2018. I'm curious to see the difference in the burnouts.

@@mcgurrentertainment yep. I have the 2015 model. I think I can add this feature, but I haven't looked deeper into it. I'd love to take the car to the track, so line lock would be very helpful.

I never tried using it in mine either but I believe if you hold it long enough, the car will release the front brakes and let you roll out of the burnout
