I love your prints! I have been doing rust dyeing on fabric and paper ....it's one on my favorite things to do. Thanks for the tips, sometimes my paper ones are definitely a hit and miss process.

I am a paper artist and I have followed your channel for ideas on what to use to color paper. It is so exciting to see you experimenting with dying paper!! I discovered junk journaling just.a couple years ago and found that dying papers with natural dyes is my favorite thing to explore. I hope to begin making my own paper this year and incorporating natural dyes into the process. I hope to go to one of your dye retreats in the future. I am going to Portugal in 2024 to create a junk journal with an IG artist I love who uses a lot of rust dying in her work. As a related sidenote - I have been experimenting with rust dying and I LOVE the process you created here. I never thought of layering recycled plastic between my paper layers - I typically roll bundles and then have to carefully pull papers apart with fingers crossed that tears are minimal. Using plastic is a game changer!

Rust dyeing was new to me too, but it is a truly magical way to make prints. I got hooked when I experimented in my own practice and I absolutely love playing with iron and tannin (videos coming in the next weeks). Honestly, I didn't expect to be so intrigued with it, but opened up to experimenting with it when I was on my artist residency in Svalbard where I knew iron as an earth pigment might be available to me. Little did I know that it would appear in the form of rust! I've loved to use iron in my practice for years, so I suppose this is a natural progression 😉 Get ready for many more weeks of videos on the subject 🤎
