Is muriatic acid safe to use in vinyl liner pools to reduce alkalinity or only safe for gunite pools? Stick to dry acid for vinyl lined pools?

I’m so happy to say this summer I’ve had absolutely no issues with keeping the water crystal clear all bc of your videos! 4 years struggling so bad I wanted to give up . I can’t thank you enough!

Wow, that's so great to hear!

This video was fantastic! However, don't make the mistake I did and run your pool pump on filter mode. I added muriatic acid six different times with no change my numbers, because I did not pay attention to what is said in this video at minute 4:00. Last night, after closely paying attention to this video, I added the muriatic acid and ran it on recirculate and it dropped my alkalinity in half!

If the hot tub is clean and hot Will turning the Circulation off through the night Keep it hotter It is in a summer house That is insulated With special silver bubble wrap insulation and wood panelled It is the lazy spa hawaiian So it has the inflatable lid as well as being in a sealed room this is in the uk 🇬🇧 But if the temperature outside is 20°c its around 30°c inside We normally set it to 35°c through the night And we just put it up to 38 4-5 hours before we want to get in

for eye protection, do NOT use Goggles while handling muriatic acid ! Use open type of eye protection such as glasses or an open full face shield. As you know, the MA fumes are very strong and caustic, if the fumes somehow happen to get inside your goggles, your eyes can get burned due to lack of ventilation inside the goggles.

Thanks for that tip!

@@SwimUniversityHopefully it goes without saying to be careful with that stuff. But I have a friend who's a moron and actually had this happen to him. I know he's not the only moron out there, so I figured I would just throw this in the mix.

Hi! Can I ask if my pool has floor tiles already and we’re planning to paint it, what paint should I use? Thanks in advance for your advice ❤

Ive been pouring a measured amount into a large plastic measuring cup, ex. 20 0unces, then into a plastic bucket half full of water. How else do you know how much to pour from the gallon acid container.I pour directly into pool from gallon container if i need a half or full gallon which i am comfortable eye balling.

Hey, I want to ask you about which product is good to adjust the pH and why. Between these two products, sulfuric acid (liquid or dry) and hydrochloric acid, and also about the chlorine shock, which is the best: calcium hypochlorite or TCCA (trichloroisocyanuric acid)

Muriatic acid. Cal hypo

So I just let my pool run on filter mode and I add the acid all around the perimeter of the pool while wearing gloves goggles and a mask. Is this okay because I don't dilute?
@SwimUniversity3 ай бұрын
That is technically okay, it's just more risky for staining or splash back.
@Abraxastrust3 ай бұрын
Never used glasss or gloves. Even had some splash on my hand. It's not a big deal. Be careful and don't rush . And don't over think it

I have a 14k gallons pool and my ph was at 8. Problem is I added 28 oz of muriatic acid in one pour and I have always been told never to add more than 25 oz. Will this be a problem? Should I do something?
@SwimUniversity7 ай бұрын
How were your pH levels after doing this? You can always bring them up by aerating your water (running the jets and water features)

I help my dad clean pools and I accidentally took a good breath of muratic acid and everything instantly went grey lol
@Kevinr147 ай бұрын
This is so silly. I simply pour the acid into a measuring cup them slowly pour it in front of a return so it mixes in thoroughly. No need to dilute it before putting in the pool.
@jacobwilkins31587 ай бұрын
The only problem with this is that it could splash or spill very easily as well as when you dump into a small container the fumes can freely come out and you inhale it.

Just pour the desired amount of acid directly into a circulating pool. Make sure too are upwind and no splashing. So simple
@morganmaycumber205011 ай бұрын
Yeah that’s what I do. I pour very carefully and slowly over the deep end and then brush the sides afterwards to ensure no etching.
@4Nameless15 ай бұрын
That's what I did, hopefully I don't mess anything up, but I'm sure it will be fine.

Wow I’ve never poured acid into my pool. Never use any of the water test kits either. Just chlorine tablets and shock it when needed. Had the pool for 10 years. No skin burns or anything. Find that sweet spot and use your coconut! 😂

Every pool is different. But yours is magical and doesn’t believe in science
@Mike-pb6lw3 ай бұрын
Chlorine tablets are highly acidic but the also add CYA. When my CYA gets too high from tabs I switch to liquid chlorine or Calhypo but as soon as I stop the tabs I notice my PH starts to skyrocket so the acid is necessary
