My filter lid will not come or no matter what I do. I already removed the black ring, but the two halves refuse to come apart.

You didn’t address one of the most difficult aspects… getting the cartridge off the insert.

I agree, sometimes this is near impossible! I have had to use a screwdriver to loosen the filter at the bottom, but this is not an easy process. Any tips?

I do get it apart, but I have to use a rubber mallet and bang around it for a while. Then it is still a challenge but eventually comes off
