Excelent advice and demonstration! Although it may seem common sense, fact is not everyone discharge xbows in a safe manner and even those who know how, not everytime we do it properly...thank you much for educating us xbowman! 👍👍

Good advice for those that do not think! I always use a small target made from a small sandbag filled with Walmart plastic bags and painted camo. If hunting on my land I just leave it 20 yards from the stand and can take a shot from the tree stand when I am done hunting. I use a Zwickey judo point on the arrow.

Love the video brother. How can I safely do it in my house, I’m from the Uk so I can’t just go outside and shoot grass. Any suggestions

I've never used a unloading bolt. Does this make it unusable if the ground is frozen?

Hey buddy can you help me I’m not sure how to and where to lubricate this swatx1 I have always had Excaliburs
@draggindeeroutdoors
@draggindeeroutdoors 3 ай бұрын
Barrel lube top/bottom of where the string rides, use a Q tip. Wax as much of the string/cables as you can, some hard to reach spots again use a Q tip.

So no way to decock without actually firing then?
@draggindeeroutdoors
@draggindeeroutdoors Жыл бұрын
Many bows don’t have a decock feature and must be fired to decock.
@proles101
@proles101 Жыл бұрын
Firing is the fastest and safest way, you can also attach your cocking rope or crank, make sure you are pulling the string off the trigger, fire it and then slowly let the string down, but if you slip bad thinga happen, so its a little sketchy.

@@proles101 you're correct. The rope cocker method of decocking...I typically do not recommend for the reasons you mentioned above. Best to be safe and protect yourself as well as your bow.

Ignorant question. Is it bad to fire a crossbow without a bolt?
@draggindeeroutdoors
@draggindeeroutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, very bad. That is called a dry fire and it will damage your bow.

Thanks, Michael. I agree, one would think this is common sense. However, there are A LOT of people buying crossbows that have never hunted and/or never used any type of archery equipment. We gotta help them out and make sure they know how to safely use these things!
