You're videos are very helpful. Is there a way to test these shock absorbers to see if they need replacement? My washer has balance issues and I'd like to determine if this is related to the shock absorbers before I take the machine apart to diagnose further. Thank you.

I replaced shocks and springs and it was still shaking. I finally figured out what the problem was. There is a drain on the bottom of the door seal. That drain was clogged. Due to that drain being clogged the cloths had excess water on them. That made the cloths weigh a lot more. When the tub would go from rinse to spin it would shake. I cleared that drain and the shaking went away. This can happen on a brand new machine also.

Great video - very helpful. Replacing the front left shock was much easier on my model once I removed the lower cement weight. It was also a bit easier not using a deep well socket. Thank you!

Great video! I wish you shown the actual noise it makes when there is a bad shock. Also, the part you listed is DC66-00470A. However I saw there is also a D66-00470B. Cannot understand what the difference is between "A" vs "B"
@TrIcKsTa0148 ай бұрын
probably too late, but A is the front shocks, B is the back ones. I reccommend checking all 4, even though accessing the front ones is a pain. I started with my back ones, saw they were bad, proceeded to check front ones before ordering replacements, and confirmed those were bad too.

Are the new shock absorbers supposed to have any play in them when you move them in an out or should they have resistance the entire time?

This question was never answered 😣 I just bought a set of rear and a set of front and the tension on the new is the same as the ones there. Which leads me to believe I have another issue that is making my washer make loud banging noises 😩
@19starmo922 жыл бұрын
@@chabelita211 I ordered mine directly from Suspa(the shock manufacturer) and talked to a rep there. I thought the same thing. When you pull on the old ones, they should pull out easier than the new ones. It was only a slight difference with mine but replacing them made a huge difference. Per the rep: Inside the plastic housing there's grease soaked foam. Over time it dries out and the foam degrades. That's what makes them fail.

Hello, we are looking for shock absorbers for a Samsung washing machine model wf18h5000aw. Are the ones in the video the same for this model? Donde puedo comprar los cuatro?
@appliancepartspros20 күн бұрын
Lamentablemente, wf18h5000aw se muestra como modelo internacional. No podemos buscar información sobre esta unidad. Puedes intentar comunicarte con el fabricante para ver si puede proporcionarte los números de pieza que necesitas.

Would the front shock absorbers be why my tub seems to lean down & back more? I replaced back ones but it didn't fix the crazy shaking/loud noises during spin cycle :/

Faulty shocks can cause that issue. It is recommended to replace all 4 at the same time.

I have an issue removing the front bolts on the shock absorber. When trying to remove the bolt with the socket wrench, the bolt just turns but doesnt get loose. I believe its the washer in the back it moves too every time I turn
@209ers6 ай бұрын
Any tips on how to get it out? The bolt is loose, but doesnt come out
@appliancepartspros6 ай бұрын
You can try to get something under the head of the bolt to kind of wedge it so that it starts coming out while you are using the socket.

Literally don’t need to take the whole machine apart. Just tip it over on its side and you can access the shocks.
@DrColg82 жыл бұрын
I ordered 4 new shocks seeing another video accessing everything from underneath without exploding everything. I'm like, that's easy enough - I can swap these in an hour. Now, getting ready to do the project I see this. I guess the difference is is that homeowners aren't charging themselves an hourly fee of $1000000/hour like a service tech. A service call would hit you for 3 hours labor... may even through in a free top dusting to sweeten the deal and make you feel better for spending your life savings on a part that failed in only 4 years. Chinese "Cheap Goods" is an oxymoron. You get either cheap or good... never both.

Hi guys, I have Samsung Ecobubble and it's shaking and vibrating as crazy while spinning + you can feel and hear like punch sound inside while changing the direction of spinning the drum. Is it also sympthom of shock absorbers or something else?

The one thing these videos dont show... everything you see here is staged. Its been pre worked to come apart easily. When you get to your own machine it wont be this smooth and sanitized. Just keep that in mind. More importantly have patience. Dont force things. Like the plastice control cover. Ive had to order several when customers try to bob vila their machines.
@CartoonistVikrant3 жыл бұрын
Why to open up the whole machine and not just the back cover. Any reasons?
@thtdudenamdbilly2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, because there are two shocks at the front of the drum that you can't reach from the rear panel access.
@markr60804 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! You should show more detail about changing the front shock absorbers ... no way that long ratchet would work, there's no clearance. Need a small ratchet or a breaker bar with an angle adapter.

It took me 3 hours, easy said than done video. Aligning the bolt back on is a challenge. The back ones are easier to put on. Use a wrench instead of a socket, when there is no room.
