I love this series, watching people make things shiny is almost as much fun as doing it myself. Over here the word copper is what we call police, they are quite difficult to polish but sometimes you can get a damned good shine on them if you’re quick enough.

Thank you! I am gonna do that to my PS4 Pro copper heatsink! No matter how much I change the cooling paste it still makes sound. Sonys cheap cooling paste was boiled and it overheated the copper.

No rinsing between sanding?

I know this vid is 2 years old, but brother! Please! Keep the copper wet, use something like penetrene, or WD40, use a soft block under your sand paper, and sand the whole face of the copper, use the next grit of sandpaper to remove the scratches of the previous grit, and use a super fine polishing compound on microfibre cloth. This will produce much much better results, no hate, just advice ❤😊

Cool, but how do you protect it once it has that finish? Doesn't it just start oxidizing again? I'm asking because i would love to make a coffee table like that!
@SkillsandTrade5 жыл бұрын
Hello Milo, it should stay protected because I use Blingmaster Bling Barrier which is a very good sealant, so the copper won't oxidize. Plus the polish I use contains a bit of sealant as well, so the copper itself is very protected from oxidization. I think a copper coffee table would be awesome.

You can also use renaissance wax. It's a preservative that was formulated for museums, that protects the finish without changing the appearance. :)

Can you use water instead of alumicut. Or brasso?

Can you do this with a random orbital sander? I am trying 400-600-800-1000-1200-1500-2000-2500-3000-5000-7000 and then the polishing paste, but I can't get rid of the haziness :/
