Some things I learned from succulents: they insist on keeping on living even in the harshest condition, they can uproot and regrow themselves even after people think they are not worth saving, and they thrive in hardship where most plants fail. . . Succulents are my heroes!

I recommend buying and fixing succulents on sale. They are cheap, and help one learn more about succulents. And it's so nice to watch a dying become healthy again. NOTE: The very bad dying succulents are placed on sale for as little as $0.50.

You know what makes it more sad for me when I notice one of my plants are dying and then they die? I actually talk to them and treat them like another being, and I even name them. I've got 1 plant named Momo, and it is very healthy so far, but my sister was also given a plant and I noticed she had not been taking care of it. Then the plant started to become brown and I felt so bad for it I just took it from her room when she wasn't looking and took care of it myself. The succulent is still brown and it's almost like it is dying. I want to help it but even this video can't help me 😭 Edit: plant that I believe is dying I name Boa. Pls pray for Boa 🙏
@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I’m so sorry to hear that Boa is dying. I wonder if she has been getting watered far too often or if she wasn’t getting watered at all. Would you know? Maybe we can still save her. The way to save Boa is to determine whether she has been underwatered or overwatered. I’m so glad Momo is doing well. I treat my plants like my pets, too. I think they sense our emotions, that’s why I always strive to be happy around them. They are living beings after all. I really hope you’ll be able to save Boa. I’m still thankful that you are trying to save her. Thank you for sharing your story. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings! ❤️🙏💫

@@SucculentFame tysm! I do believe that my sister when she owned Boa she did give her water once a week but never gave her enough, but then when I owned Boa and started to notice that she may be dying I got scared (pretty much what you explained in the video that happened to people when they get scared) and watered Boa more then just once a week.

Hi, Clarissa! I think it’s due to too frequent watering. They do love to get lots of water when it’s time for them to drink, but intervals has to be really long except in the summer (about weekly or every 8 to 9 days). @SucculentFame6 жыл бұрын
Hi! The moisture meter should be at the lowest. So mine should show one before I water. What can you do if the succulents are overwatered and falling apart? Is there anything that can be done at that point?
@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! It might not be too late. Take it out of the pot. Try to remove some (not all) of the soil around the roots. Just shake it off once, don’t rub it off. Let the soil and roots air dry for now. What’s the temperature like out there. If it’s super warm, you may replant it after 5 days. Don’t water it after replanting. ☝️water it only after 5 days after repotting. So, your succulent won’t be watered for 10 days total. It is better off without water right now. It will recover faster. I really hope it’s not too late. 🤞My apologies for the late response. I appreciate your comment and patience that I’m not able to respond promptly. 😅🙏Thank you so much again! ❤️☺️🌈

@@SucculentFame Hi! How does the moisture thing works? What number shows if It is over watered or underwatered?
@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
Hi! It detects moisture through the metal tip and rod. It will not tell you if it is overwatered or underwatered. It is just used to check whether it is time to water or not and if you have watered well enough. It should read 1 meaning that the soil is dry. When it is time to water, it should read at least 6 to 10. A reading of 6 to 10 does not mean it is overwatered. It just means the soil is soaked enough. That is the right wetness that you need to achieve WHEN IT IS TIME to water. I hope I was able to explain it well. My apologies for the late response. Thank you! ❤️😃🌈

On this video your moisture meter was showing on 3 in the dry section, is this a recommended reading to keep my succulents at after each sprinkling water at the base of the trunk at 3 dry , and please how much water and how often would you suggest for very young healthy plants about 10 centimeters tall? i'm off to watch more of your video"s. Have a nice day.

Hi Trevor, 3 on the moisture meter means that there is still moisture. I wait til I get a reading of one before watering. I know that they have enough water to drink if reading is already at 6 to 10. So, when it’s time to water, the soil needs to be really wet. Thank you so much for subscribing. I really appreciate that you subscribed and took the time to leave this comment. Happy Planting! ❤️☺️🌈

All my succulents die not sure what I'm doing wrong! Need some help can you share the best tips to care for them on 98 to 102. This weather makes me believe they need more water but I'll try again with this new one will water it once a week! The ones I have on my front yard are used to sun exposure I believe and water them every single morning.
@SucculentFame2 жыл бұрын
Hello Alexa, I’m so sorry to hear that. What kind of soil are you using? I’m starting to believe that the main issue with all the confusion about watering is fast-draining soil. In fact, I’ve been using just regular dirt now, ‘cause it retains water when it’s time to water them. Once a week actually works in those temperatures, as long as your soil is retaining enough water. I’ve been planning to make a video about how fast draining soil seems to be the culprit with over and underwatering. I just havent found the time yet. If you’re using fast draining soil, water your succulents for 3 consecutive days then wait 5 to 7 days before watering again. This is on hot weathers. Thank you for the question. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫 💫

Hi Alexa, please make sure that when it’s time to water, that your soil gets super wet. Then give them a dry spell after. So make sure you give them enough break from watering after that good, heavy watering. Maybe a week of break before watering again.

@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
I still think it’s due to watering too often. I think it might be true for both. ‘Cause at an advanced stage of dying, leaves can wrinkle up whether it is due to over or underwatering. How often do you water them? I still would suggest that you dig it out and check if the root area is healthy. Is the soil wet right now? I’ll be waiting for your reply. I hope I’ll get a notification, too. 🤞 For some reason, I don’t get notifications for replies. 😅

Very good information. Thank you. My cactus is one that's wide (@ 4") and it was overwatered. I'm trying to save it but I don't know how to actually cut it...if I should cut it at all. If I cut it I imagine since it's so wide, it will expose the mushy inside. I removed it from the planter to attempt to dry out the roots...not that I can save the bottom of the plant. So...do I still cut it and replant as is, above the rotting part? Thank you in advance.

Hi Yvonne, leave it out of the planter for now and just let the mushy part dry out, so you won’t have to cut it. They are still better off without water and out of soil while it’s trying to recover. Which kind is it? Is the mushy part right at the base? Does it have a stem or is it like most Haworthias that don’t have stems? I’ll wait for your reply. 👍😃

Can extreme heat Effect Succulents? I’m a teen living in Australia and I got three succulents for Christmas. I sit them on my windowsill and for the last week it’s been upwards of 43° they are now becoming flimsy and discoloured. What should I do???
@SucculentFame6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ellie, it’s nice to hear that you are growing succulents early on. I’ve seen teens growing their collection. That’s great to hear. Extreme heat does affect them. How often do you water them? Are they getting direct sunlight on your windowsill?
@ellielouise54086 жыл бұрын
Succulent Fame I water them every 3-4 days, and yes they are getting direct sunlight 😁
@SucculentFame6 жыл бұрын
I really would suggest to put them under some form of filter, like shade cloth or layers of flimsy pieces of fabric. In the summer here in Brentwood, CA, I use 4 layers of flimsy cloth to protect them. It protected most varieties except one. 😅 If it’s cooler inside, please make sure that the soil is really dry before watering. There are a lot of factors that could affect frequency of watering, like size of the pot, size of the roots ball (dense root balls dry up slower) and wind, aside from temperature. If you have access to a moisture meter, I highly suggest that you use it. It’s a succulent life saver. Right now, at your temperature, I dont think it’s due to overwatering, although it could still happen. So, our best bet for now is to protect them from direct sunlight. I found out from experience that morning sun in the summer is just as scorching to succulents. Feel free to ask more questions. I’m more than happy to answer them. Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. 😃

I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I can’t believe I’m 1 year behind now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫

Hi Margarita, yes, please move them to a warm, sunny room. You can also put them under a grow light to keep them warm, like this one. amzn.to/34xFayr Thank you so much for leaving your comment. I really appreciate. More blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈 My apologies for the very late response. 😅
