How to save a fortune on the Yamaha Tricity 125 scooter! This bike has next to no miles but because it’s been pre owned it’s over £1000 cheaper than a new one! I’m a big fan of these. Great review 👍😀 I last rode a 125 bike 30 years ago. But if I were to go back to biking, I'd go for the 300, or the mp3 500, as both can be ridden with a full car licence, which I have.

I didn’t think the Tricity could be ridden on a car licence. Something to do with the front wheels being to close together.

@tescan1961 must be able to stand up on its own then. The 125 can’t and needs the side stand down. Just like my Niken. Much bigger version of this with gears. Can’t ride it on a car license though. If you’re considering one you should go for it. These are really easy to ride. Really stable and loads of grip.

Here in Polad yu can drive Piaggo 300 and 500 on car drivers license because they have above 46cm between wheels

I reckon these 3 wheeler scoots , would make good mobility scooters . Not into them myself , as they have got more parts to service or replace on the front end . The three wheelers don’t appear to have been popular , as opposed to standard scooters . I wouldn’t be surprised if dealers with unsold new stock , flogged the three wheelers off at discount prices ,to get rid of them . I only remember ever seeng one three wheeler on the road , & that was a Piaggio at on a Hospital Easter egg run a few years back . Can’t see them holding much second hand value .

I agree about the value. I bought my Niken from Yamaha. It was new and had been sitting there for 2 years. I got it for half price! (Pretty much) with 0 miles. But that’s just in the uk. Cross the channel and you see loads of the scooters with 3 wheels. They seem more open to them. They are better to ride. More comfortable, definitely more grip so much safer in the wet. I’m in France at the moment. I’ve been here for a few days and I’ve seen at least 10 of them.

@@GillyBikes I have noticed it’s scooter city, when it comes to places, such as France , Spain , Italy , Greece & others . You see many types of scooters that for some reason, not as popular in the U.K., such as the larger wheel scooters , including the 3 wheel designs . In those counties 2 or 3 wheeled motorised transport , tends to be encouraged ,by the powers that be . I have always preferred motorcycles, due to their larger wheels & handling , but recognise scooters have their place & can be a more practicable choice ,in some situations . I have owned twist & rip maxi styled 125 cc scooter myself , a 2000 reg brand new 125 Malaguti Madison ,maxi styled scoot , which used the Yam 125 Majesty engine 12 •2 hp . It performed & handled better than most modern 125 cc scooters & had massive under seat storage , & great weather protection . I used it to carry beer & shopping & as a runabout . I even rode it all around North Wales , & the Great Orme it was so comfortable I found myself nodding off on the A 55 near St Asaph . 👍

Can you do a Full Review of your Nikon? i find 3 wheel scooters Motorcycles interesting. would i have one? im not sure? maybe? but if i did id probably have a scooter version for storage and year round usage, maybe i could ditch the car as its only 8 mile to work?? Anyway would you do a full detailed review on your Nikon?

I will try to get one done soon. I’ve had it for a while now so it’s due a long term owner review. 👍. You should go and try one. Everyone says the same thing. One of the best bikes they’ve ever ridden but…. The looks put them off so they don’t buy one. They are very different. For me only the Goldwing is more comfortable for a long tour but they are about 5x the price!

It’s a 125 so as long as the lorry is doing less than 60mph you will be ok. If it’s faster then you might have to sit behind it.

I already get made fun of a bit for riding my Honda Vision 110, even though I think it's beaut. Although saying that 95% of bikers still wave at me. I wonder why Scooters in Europe are super popular but here are looked down on tad.

It has to be the weather or the ridiculously high insurance for them in the uk. Insurance in particular is crazy. And because it’s the law that we have to have it the companies can charge what they want. Just another rip off for us.
