My dad received a table cloth like that from a lovely old Chinese gentleman and my Mom did wear it, folded in half, as a shawl. It was silk and all hand embroidered. Mom loved it and received many compliments on her "expensive" shawl.

I’m sure it seems like progress is slow sometimes, but I enjoy seeing how it’s “really” done. My husband was a carpenter/cabinetmaker for over forty years, and he always hated remodeling shows where houses get renovated in 30-60 minutes. He calls those shows “remodeling porn” 🤣. I belief the fringed cloth Sam got is called a “piano shawl”. I’m guessing it was for draping over a piano (hence the name), but people buy them to wear as fancy shawls.

All your copper and polishing wheel reminds me of my Father-in-law. He lived with us until his passing. He was a tool and die maker and loved polishing brass. I used to scourer the thrift store looking for brass items to keep him busy. He’d get his rouge stick coating on the wheel and make the brass look new. Gosh I miss him. Love your videos.

Sean! Sorry, I should have messaged you on the stair video……if you rotate the staircase so it runs along the separating wall from the next structure, and move the whole thing closer to the front door, you can switch back closer to the top and then be ideally positioned to enter the bathroom AND bedroom…..and you might be better able to utilize the space near the skylight!!!!🤷🏼♂️ Maybe?? Less wasted space where space is at a premium
@lislchester5266Ай бұрын
I think the stairs should be right in front of the door. They can go over, and be built into, the uppers in the kitchenette. Also, you could define the areas for each usage by changing the flooring. I wouldn’t use walls or dividers or steps in such a small space.
@annettesharrock1236Ай бұрын

Please give a message to your wife. I think she should research that tablecloth that she bought at the brochante. When I traveled in Spain in 1993, we went to Sevilla. There we saw shawls that the women wore in the Flamenco dances net worth of the Gypsy tradition. That thing she bought looks exactly like one of those shawls to me. And they were quite expensive. They were used in the festival in Sevilla and for the Flamenco dancers.

Aren't you pleased you decided to take down the floor? You'd never have known about the voids if you hadn't, and may have had unpleasant surprises down the road a few years. I do prefer having everything on one level as there is a lot more flexibility with layout and options when having people over to visit.

Sean 3 things. #1 Increasingly you seem to be out of breath. Please I hope you see a doctor and make sure you don’t have any problems other than working hard. #2 frankly I think you should just do a normal closed in spiral staircase out of wood like they used to do years ago. It makes it hard to move furniture but you’re working with a shortage of space. It’s too bad you couldn’t have ran a staircase up on the other side of the stone wall in the stable area and connected it to the cottage. would’ve been a good thing to do while you were patching the holes in that wall lol a long time ago. #3 It has occurred to me after you showed off your copper collection that the stable that connects to the cottage would be a good place for you to rebuild and make a nice proper workshop/storage area for your copper & wood boards. With a nice woodstove, you could have a toasty place to polish all that copper. It’s going to take you forever to get all that done and it seems to me. (Plus you mentioned that it is the OVERFLOW from the caravan!The one thing you don’t have is a proper workshop for doing this other work which obviously in need of doing. Lol no wonder your lovely wife put her foot down about the copper overflow…LOL! You deserve a proper workshop to use solely for bread boards & copper work & storage!
