I have a pair of boots that I’ve had for a long time that started to peel they go over the knee and fold. They are so comfortable and they started peeling. They are a medium gray, so I was thinking before watching this that I could sand off the old paint and redo them, but wasn’t sure what to use. I will definitely try this mixture. Thank you you English is perfect.😊

I saw someone use sandpaper to scrape off leather/faux leather to make boots smoother before applying acrylic. Thanks for the tip of adding water to acrylic.

I have this really old leather jacket, and the arms and shoulders are peeling so bad that I can’t even wear it anymore without leaving a trail of little leather scraps behind!! It’s a good jacket that I just can’t bear to get rid of! Do you know of any way to fix or repair the peeling parts? It’s mainly the sleeves the rest of it is in perfect condition and as I said before I just couldn’t throw it away. Any ideas or anything?
@ErikStrifeDesign3 жыл бұрын
a few days ago I worked on a shirt that I had, and the sleeve part had some leather parts that were also peeling off so i just peeled it all off and used black acrylic paint just as i did with the shoes, it worked totally fine and the shirt looks great as if there was never anything bad with it, the problem is the now the leather parts look like just cotton fabric, the leather jacket you have you could do the same but then the sleeves would look different from the torso part of the jacket :/ there were another solutions like taking the sleeves of and make new ones but that would take sewing skills and materials...

But how are you dealing the shoe? This method is not waterproof, and the moment it rains or snows you have wet feet and salt damage. PU leather sometimes comes with netting underneath, this wouldn't work for anything besides genuine leather, no?
