@ Another thing to be aware of is that often the vendor isn’t a knife person. So, varying the search wording can really pay off. The seller may not have any idea what it is he/she is offering.

@@bishop6426yeah I have misspelled intentionally,,, it seems like it doesn’t work for me as much as it did though ,,, probably due to AI

This was a really great video. You shared many helpful tips. The best way I have found to save money on eBay is just stay off eBay! 😂

One thing I like to do is sort by newly listed. Then I throw a low offer their way. If they want quick money sometimes they accept. I don’t mean really low, but probably 20% under their listing price. I recently snagged a Case XX Bowie 1836 for $130 that was listed at a starting price of $150. A lot of times when the auction goes full cycle they sell for $200+ depending on condition.

@@dtjarks That's a good idea. I'll try it. Thanks brother 🙏

$55 for a knife with pitted blades....I will pass. Garage sales will be way better.

I had a good gig of having a maintenance route, over a large area . Had a lunch hour ( but usually ate driving down the road ( hey no judgment here … this was years ago - I’m retired - now we are more aware of distracted driving) Anyway I was able to stop at a pawn shop or garage sale as I was passing . Now a days using eBay and having a search in place , and focusing my collecting on just a few wants or needs. Helps me save money on traveling . I may buy a knife every other month ( say 6 a year) ,, mostly schrade or camillus . And for about 10 years maybe a Spyderco once a year. Yeah went to gun shows… but after you pay the entrance fee,, and walk out there with nothing.. or flea markets .. after many trips out … This works for me. Just remember certain collectibles , such as certain knives have doubled the price in the last 10 years? The dollar is not worth the same. I will add : I also focus on nearby eBay dealers,, and ask early on : hey I’m in the same town or county… can we meet at the post office? I have met folks at the sheriff office , Especially for the things I sell on craigslist,, and I have sold and bought from same folks after the first deal . I do have to say: I am glad I started to collect and stayed with: new old stock ( with boxes 90 plus percent) .. I didn’t think much of it but that’s just how I collected.
