So I heard you say you were coming from Washington when you guys got pcs to Guam and that is me right now 😮 and I need to make sure I get a job so I can make sure it’s just not my husband having all the responsibility because here in Washington I have 3 good paying jobs then he is in the army. Is there any suggestions for military wife’s and getting a job either remote or on the island? 😅sorry for all the questions I’m excited but scared for the big move

Being scared is totally justified. I remember being so nervous and researching nonstop! It can take time to find a job but don't let it discourage you, consistency is key! I recommend trying to find a job on base if possible. They pay similar to Washington, out in town is so low😭 Plus with government jobs you can use spousal preference which gives you a leg up. Are there thrift stores on base or island?

Yes! I definitely recommend the ones on base. Navy has the "Navy-Marine Corps Society Thrift Shop" & Air Force Base has the "Airman's Attic". There's no Goodwill on the island so a lot of people donate to these. You'll also find tons of stuff just given away on the curbs if you follow the neighborhood pages. There's a few thrift stores off base but I never checked them out. From what I heard they were typically overpriced & not worth it.
