Rub Rails are EXPENSIVE and if you're looking for a Carolina Skiff J Series, you'll find only find one place that has them. I came up with a cheaper solution and it works! Looks Great! Give it a view and see the simple solution I came up with.

Always Great to save money Ron....don't even get me started on Nc trailer policies...my Gheenoe trailer had no title what a headache...had to rebuild the daggum thing so much rust from beach..by time time i rebuilt tongue bunks paid a bond on it and got numbers for it about 350 dollars..but now i can say it was worth it...but Nc does suck...lol

I'm remodeling a 2001 J 16 and need a rub rail. Do you mind sharing where you purchased it? I'd also like to know what you used to raise your cooler and brace your front deck. Thanks!

Absolutely! I ordered the rub rail off of eBay. To raise my deck, I built what I call triangle trusses. Not exactly perfect but after you fiberglass it’s in, super sturdy. I raised the cooler with a pressure treated 2x4, glued in with 5200 and caulked to keep water from getting under them. I tried to not drill any holes to the deck

Would the old town topwater pdl 106 be worth buying used for $1500? It's been used for a year and it's in pretty good shape. It doesn't have much for extras. I've seen you've experience with that kayak in recent videos.
